In a complete change from Chevy's stodgy past, the '55s were thoroughly up-to-date with Sweep Sight wrapped windshields atop "longer-lower-wider" bodies. The wheelbase was unchanged at 115 inches, and the overall design was balanced and tasteful for the day. This is the kind of car we love to find. An original car and a long time owner (over 25 years). It was acquired by the owner in the 1980's in pretty much the same condition you see here. Please let all the pictures load (there are over 120) to see the great condition of this classic old Chevy. Our knowledge of what has been done to this car is somewhat limited, this is what we do know. It is a combination of original, with some cosmetic and mechanical work done over the years as needed. It appears the car was repainted long ago in the original India Ivory/Skyline Blue combination. The original 6 cylinder engine and transmission are long gone and have been replaced with a late 50's/early 60's 283 V-8 and a 3-speed automatic transmission. The exterior trim and chrome appear original and in great shape. The interior is very nice with some restoration as needed. The undercarriage is solid, clean and dry.
