Vehicle Detail
1990 Honda Pacific Coast (PC800) I never thought I'd even considering selling her, but here I am in a fix with finances so I must let her go. This is my beloved 1990 Honda Pacific Coast Motorcycle. I am the second owner and have had her for about 4-years now. I purchased her from the original owner, and she was bone stock with the exception of the upgraded Rifle windshield. Oh, and he put on the throttle lock (cruise control) as well. I have put the majority of the 21,118 miles on her, as the original owner mainly took the motorcycle out on a trip once per year. I have owned many motorcycles, but this one goes down as my all time favorite. It is so practical and reliable. I have NEVER had any issues with this bike. Most everyone reading this auction likely knows what these bikes are all about: super-reliable, practical, and of course different. I would encourage anyone who is not familiar with these rare motorcycles, do some internet searches, such as these: * I'd start here first: * Ebay has a decent write-up here: * This is the "Go-To" site on knowledge of these bikes (be sure and join): MECHANIC CONDITION : 1. Never had a single issue with it failing to start or any issues with it running poorly. Again, it has been superbly reliable. 2. It does not leak anything. It's whole life, the original owner and I have used strictly Rotella T 15W-40. I believe in staying consistent, one because I feel that it may help keep things more stable inside the engine, and two because Rotella T 15W-40 has appropriate specs for this motorcycle. I was skeptical when the owner told me that he had used this oil since the very first oil change. I looked up the specs and confirmed it. I've been sold since. Just changed the oil about 2-months ago. I have maybe 20 miles on it since. 3. Everything works on it. Brakes are great, lights, all buttons, gauges, levers, etc. 5. I replaced the fork seals somewhere around 16,000 miles. UPGRADES 1. I installed LED lighting for all dash lighting. Turn signals, headlight, brake lights are incandescent. I like to cool blue glow at night, plus by installing LEDs, the strator isn't as taxed. 2. MMoto rear rack. I ordered and received this from a company in the Ukraine and with shipping, it ran me a bit under $250 if I remember correctly. I'm 220lbs and I can stand on top of this rack. Tremendously strong. I bought the deluxe rack with the lower shelf so that I could pack extra stuff, like a tent and such. 3. I installed a power outlet in the trunk. I run a Tomtom GPS that I have velcro'd onto the forks. 4. I installed a battery tender to keep the battery up during storage. I have always kept this plugged in, and I have not yet had to buy a new battery. I am a firm believer in these things. See picture. It nicely tucks under the seat when not in use. 5. I put cooshie hand grips on. Makes the handles a bit bigger and the cooshie grips help minimize vibration. 6. Previous owner put on the throttle lock, or cruise control lever. Works fine for what it is. I rarely use it. 7. My motorcycle is running "The Dark Side" tires. This has been the best move for me, hands-down. Controversial? Maybe for some, but I'm sold. If you have no idea of what I'm talking about here, I'm running a BF Goodrich TA Radial tire on the back. I have a Bridgeston Battlax rear tire (reverse rotation) on the front. This is a known, PC800 rider-tested combination. Those BFG's on the back were installed in 2014 and they still look new. The front tire was put on last year. Both tires have a ton of tread left, so you won't be buying tires anytime soon. My single motorcycle accident from the last 30-years was due to skidding and the inability to brake efficiently. That car tire on the back brakes better, and does better going up my gravel driveway. I swear I cannot tell a difference while cruising on pavement....even harsh cornering. No difference, man. None. 8. As mentioned above, it has a Rifle-brand windshield. I believe this is their tallest standard screen. Great because there is no helmet buffeting as you soar on down the road. WHAT MAKES IT LESS THAN PERFECT: 1. It has scratches. The worst is the right back corner at the turn signal. The bike once fell off of a loading ramp and scraped that back corner. I replaced the turn signal lens, but the deep scratches remain. I never repaired it because the bike still looks great from a few feet away. I don't sweat over scratches and imperfections...heck the bike is 24 years old and looks like its 3 years old. I have a Honda Service Manual for this bike (they're not cheap), an extra set of high-end brake pads, the original owner's manual and maybe some other goodies to throw in. I have my motorcycle listed locally, so no guarantees that it will last until auction end. Sorry. Its tax refund season, so if you're really interested then I encourage you to call me with questions. This bike is a local-pickup unless the new owner arranges, pays for and manages all things involving shipping. I am located in Georgetown, Indiana, just 10 minutes from Louisville, Kentucky. Winning bidders will need to secure their purchase with a minimal $100 down (NON-REFUNDABLE) within 24-hours of auction close. Full payment will need to be made within 7 business days, no exception. I can store the bike for a couple of weeks if needed. Again, I'm all about discussing descriptions and business details about this bike for serious buyers. Just give me a call at 812-225-1842. Call within reasonable hours, please, maybe from like 730am-10:00pm EST or something. I'm cranky if awakened. I'm an honest, reasonable guy. However, I'm not interested in any alternative payment plan or otherwise non-traditional deal here. Hand over the money, and I'll have over the bike. I'm also not a dealer of any type. I'll be completely honest with you and I'm not out to hide anything or try to rip you off. I really hoping for a true PC800 enthusiast to buy my baby, so if you're truly interested then read up; know what you're talking about and then give me a call with questions. Good luck, fellas. --Perry On Mar-11-16 at 07:30:03 PST, seller added the following information: Hey Fellas, just wanted to point out and re-emphasis a few things in the pictures:1. Picture #21 has my hand in it pointing out the battery tender plug. As I've said, it neatly tucks under the seat when not in use. Awesome thing to have. 2. Picture # 15 shows the most significant scratches/corner-damage. As I've mentioned before, it didn't bother me enough to go through the hassles of fixing it, but I did wish to emphasize to those folks that lose sleep over this kind of stuff. In picture 22 (with the reflection of my dog), one can see a small dent/scratch if you look closely enough. Trunks often show the signs of wear and use in these motorcycles because they kind of stick out. 3. Owners of the 1990 model often have faded paint, especially on the faux tank cover. As you can see in the photos, my paint is pretty awesome. No fading of the Candy Glory Red anywhere. Honda chose a pretty color in 1990, and I am used to getting lots of complements on my bike. 4. Oh, and her name: "Big booty Judy". In following one in traffic, I always thought that PC800s appeared as if they have some "junk in the trunk," if you know what I mean.
