Up for sale is a 1972 Corvette. This car is an original numbers matching 454, 4-Speed car that still retains its original Steel Cities Gray with black interior. The car is a very low option car. The only two options the car has are the 454 which 3,913 were produced in 1972 and the M21 transmission which 1,638 were produced in 1972. The steel cities gray color was a two year run and 2,346 were painted this color in 1972. The exact number of cars that were steel cities gray with a 454 and the M21 is unknown. The car does not have any other options!! The car was originally owned by a dealer from '72 until '78 when the second owner purchased the car. He kept the car as a fun / weekend car until early 2015 when I purchased the car. This corvette was his baby. He kept a log of every time that the car was touched which is included with the car. Unfortunately the original paperwork was lost during his divorce. The car had been sitting in the second owners garage due to health issues. Because of it sitting I had the car completely gone thru last spring and replaced the following. It is original paint so it shows the typical chips and lacquer hairline cracks that are typical of this vintage paint. The car has been looked at by an very well respected corvette shop and the owner stated that you don't find them in this condition very often. This car has a very straight original body. The cars original seats are still in the car. The carpet shows some minor fading in the normal areas and the drivers seat has a small tear. The door panels are also original and show some age as the pictures show. The frame and bird cage of this car are extremely solid and rust free. The surfaces do have some minor surface rust but the car was garage kept since it was new. The original spare tire including its original sticker is still under the car. This car runs, drives and stops perfectly and is an excellent example of an original 1972 corvette. We also own a numbers matching 1974 454, 4 speed that will be listed on eBay soon. We have had fun with the corvettes but it is time to go in another direction which is the only reason they are for sale.
