Previously owned by a California Highway Patrol officer, she HAD TO BE reliable at the drop of a hat when duty called. I knew I was starting with a platform to make something truly exceptional. How then? Well the answer there was clear. Start with the low-mile 4.2L that I had been saving for a truck like this and infuse a host of my tuning secrets to unlock all of her potential! She fires right up and whirs with Swiss-watch precision. She is quiet, smooth, tic/knock/overheating free with tons of available power. That said, every hour put on the motor the valve job continues to bed-in and open up – more and more powerful as time goes on. The transmission shift quality is EXCELLENT with no slippage, shudder, or hesitation at all. The Borg Warner transfer case is whisper quiet with no gearbox moans or whines – even as you push past 85mph on the motorways. Driving her here in LA during the recent unseasonal record heat, she was as cool as a cucumber – a function of the overhauled cooling system and my own personal touch – the 160 degree, triple bridge, single bypass thermostat. It’s the same one I race with and really takes care of the motor under the most demanding conditions. The Old Man Emu suspension system paired with GENUINE springs keeps her agile and comfortable. Steering is crisp and tight with ZERO wandering, shimmies or shakes. You can throw her pretty hard into a long looping freeway interchange and she just sticks – begging you to punch it for the apex. Of course, we’re not going to leave power unchecked – so the balance can be found in the race inspired brake upgrades I’ve fitted. With slotted and vented rotors in all corners, the enemy of all brakes (heat) is sent away leaving you with maximum stopping power. The organic sport pads are zero noise, minimal dust, super biting pads. This set up has under 100 miles on it and again, with every hour put on them, increases in power. If you need to, you can stand this truck on its head! I have also upgraded the alternator to 150A. This is in anticipation of you’re potential power needs. Whatever you want to put in it – upgraded entertainment, food storage, lighting – your power needs are COVERED. I LOVE the original Michelin XM+S tyres. They are the best looking and best performing for the Range Rover Classic. They are ghost-like quiet under all rolling conditions and coming from Southern California parts trucks – they have all been spared weather extremes and are in like new condition. Overall, driving her really evokes that sense of man and machine – she fits like a glove and responds instantly to driver input – the way it should be! Aesthetics & Operation: The feel of her is a total love affair. New leather seating – all the way around. The touch is calf-skin soft and the sensation is exhilarating. And yes, it smells like delicious new leather inside the vehicle. The cabin is EXCEPTIONALLY bright and luxurious and this is an indulgence that you have the honor of breaking-in and making your own! The Epsom Green refinish is velveteen smooth and undeniably reflective. I have shared as many pictures as possible in varied light to illustrate how 1) Factory Perfect the color is and 2) How nuanced and rich the tones are depending on ambient lighting. The OEM expedition rack and bull bar have also been refinished to complete the package and overall she is absolutely stunning. Up until recently, all envious eyes looked up to NAS Defenders of the same vintage. Now, the tables have turned and having passed several exceptional Defenders here in town over the last few weeks, you could easily see the lusting driver wishing that this fine vehicle was their own. All original finishing and materials are in excellent condition. The soft-dash is clean and knick free. The carpeting is still soft and clean. All door cards are tidy and sturdy. The wood work is clean and still rather dark but the center console tray exhibits typical tiger striping in the veneer. Pay close attention to the detailed photos of common stress areas – they are factory fresh and rust free. All bulkhead, floorpan, rear tray, arches and jambs… all clean and tight. The OEM Harmon Kardon Audio is crystal clear and powerful and the digital display on the head-unit is clear and displays numbers correctly. The headliner and factory floor mats are brand-new and from top to bottom, she feels (and even smells) like a new car. To that point, she has never been a smokers car and there are no lingering odors in the cabin or ventilation system. The AC is serviced just in time for the demands of summer and works BRILLIANTLY. Your exposed skin is freezing in minutes and thankfully, the heating works just as well to take the bite away! All lights, horns, blinkers, windows, handles, latches, etc work perfectly too. She also retains her original, unused jack and tools (with work cloth!); as well as OEM tool roll, full sized spare, owners manual, and Magazine Ad from 1995! Perhaps finally, the jewel of the 95 function is seat memory. And yes, it works perfect too. A little trick I have – I set position 2 to my driving taste. Position 1 is fully lowered, fully back – to create space for effortless vehicle exit and entry. Purchasing, Perspective & Why Buy From Me: Please read my outstanding feedback from folks like you!
