1996 CHEVY SUBURBAN 1500 LS, ENGINE RUNS GREAT, NEEDS TRANSMISSION, AC NEEDS REPAIR Selling a 1996 Chevy Suburban 1500 LS. This has been a very sturdy and dependable vehicle, which I have taken great care of since the day I bought it. With its 5.7 liter V8 Vortec engine, I couldn't imagine a better choice for towing practically any load you need. Although it has 213,702 miles, the engine runs well and stable, and starts up in any weather, hot or cold, without issues. The vehicle is in need of transmission repair. It has a 4 speed Automatic transmission. Since we felt the transmission skip, we took it to a mechanic for diagnosis, who told us the transmission will have to be rebuilt, and knowing how dependable this car was for me all this time, I would have proceeded to have the transmission repaired, but with recent changes in living space arrangements, I now have less room to park an extra vehicle, so it has to stay on my lawn, so I decided its time to sell. Currently the transmission is not functional, the car will drive forward slowly but not in reverse, a buyer would more than likely need to tow the car once purchased. Heater works well, but the Air conditioner stopped working some time back, I am not sure exactly if it needs some kind of tuning or other repair, for I have been usually just been driving with windows down so it wasn't an inconvenience for me. Other than the above mentioned issues, this car was built to last, strong frame and dependable engine, lasting vehicle.
