You are looking at a low mileage example of a 1976 Lancia Scorpion. It has recently undergone a driver quality restoration. It is an original 2 owner California car and has been owned by the same family since the late 1980s. Only 1,396 Lancia Scorpions were produced for the U.S. market in 1976, of which only a handful remain in restorable condition. The Scorpion / Montecarlo (Euro spec), was designed by Pininfarina and was also the first car to be built completely in house by Pininfarina in Turin, Italy. This two-seat, mid-engined, rear-wheel drive sports car weighed in at just 2,290 lbs from the factory. It is fitted with the stock 1.8L 4 cylinder twin-cam engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The engine in stock form produced just 81 hp, but after removal of smog equipment and some performance modifications, it's estimated to now be producing around 150hp. This example has been tastefully restored with a road rally inspired theme, including: period correct HRE wheels, Recaro racing bucket seats, Momo steering wheel and shift knob, Sabelt 4-point racing harnesses, custom harness bar with mounted fire extinguisher, custom aluminum race-inspired door panels, dual Webber race carburetor set-up, performance headers and customer quad-pipe exhaust. This is a very thrilling and engaging car to drive. Also, the sound it produces is reminiscent of a Lancia rally car from the era! It has not been raced or taken on a track day - it has only driven about 800 miles since completing the restoration. In person inspections prior to bidding are welcomed & encouraged.
