In other words, it has been fired up and operated regularly by certified mechanics for years, only to move it in and out of a shop on a daily basis. This '57 Chevy is powered by a 327 small block with the double-hump heads--for those who still prefer the old-school small block, this one's a winner, and it purrs. The 327 is backed by a four-speed manual transmission, which currently only powers the rear differential--it's all GM underneath. You can drive this truck home. More importantly, you can do so with the comforts of power steering and air conditioning. Don't let the tough-guy exterior fool you--this beast does have some creamy filling! While the truck is very solid, both structurally and cosmetically (sheet metal is excellent), it is a clean slate for your build plans. It is currently sitting on a four wheel-drive front suspension and axle, but the drive train is missing the transfer case and front drive shaft. For another $500.00 or so, you can source the remaining drivetrain components locally and be four-wheeling in no time. You may also choose to go low-rider, and swap in a modern two-wheel drive front suspension from an outfitter like TCI, Art Morrison, or Rod & Custom, and hit the cruise in style. Today's hotrod parts market makes it very simple to go either way, from pro-touring to pro-street, especially if you're handy in the garage. You can also drive the pickup as is . . .
