Vehicle Detail
For Sale is my 2005 Mazdaspeed Miata. I got this car in 2010 from a dealer as a Summer/Weekend vehicle and it has been used very sparingly. Always garaged, I’ve put on 16,660 miles on it over the past 5 years, most of them coming from two road trips - one to Miami in 2013 and a 4,500 mile trip to Texas in 2014 for the US F1 GP Race. It currently has 80,500 miles on it.Note this is the Mazdaspeed version of the Miata - only 1428 of these were made in 2005 (http://jalopnik.com/your-guide-to-every-special-edition-mazda-miata-ever-so-1675339097). Mazdaspeed is the in-house performance division in Mazda and this version was available only for two years (2004-2005). It comes with a factory installed turbo/intercooler. Considered one of the best versions of this model, see some of the reviews below:a) Car and Driver: http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/mazdaspeed-mx-5-miata-road-test b) Motortrend: http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/coupes/112_0405_2004_mazdaspeed_mx_5_miata/ c) Road and track: http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/first-drives/reviews/a10233/2004-mazdaspeed-mx-5-miata/ If you like a stick shift, you will not be disappointed! Sad to see it go but the boss says I have too many cars and this one needs to go (She may just be right :)) These cars are currently selling anywhere from about $7500-$14000 on Autotrader ( http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/Used+Cars/Mazda/Miata+MX5/Norwalk+CT-06854?endYear=2016&listingType=used&listingTypes=used,certified&makeCode1=MAZDA&mmt=%5BMAZDA%5BMIATA%5BMIATA%7CMAZDASPEED%5D%5D%5B%5D%5D&modelCode1=MIATA&searchRadius=0&showcaseOwnerId=51589360&startYear=1981&Log=0&showcaseListingId=397442470&showcaseOwnerId=51589360&captureSearch=true&fromSIP=5B0B6FB2007BD86B0719B5DB8EAD8036&showToolbar=true&Log=0 ) most of the lower priced ones either having high miles or an unclean history. The driver side window regulator broke on my last trip to Texas and the window stays down (see pictures) and I've hardly ever taken it out of the garage since. I’m starting this auction at $6000 to account for that. Note you will need to have this fixed. Firestone quoted me $500 for it including $225 for the OEM Mazda window regulator. A local shop may cost lesser or at a minimum you will have to have the window rolled up and held in place there. Please take a look at the photos and ask me any questions. I will try to answer to the best of my abilities. If you live nearby, take a look at the car and have it inspected by a mechanic if you want to. This car is being sold AS IS. There is no warranty though I am not aware of any mechanical issues and the car worked flawlessly on my last road trip. This is a NO Reserve auction, highest bidder gets it. Give yourself or your loved one the perfect gift for next spring/summer! (Note: Payment should be in Cash or Cashier’s Check only! If you are paying by cashier’s check, the car will not be released till the funds are credited to my account) On Dec-21-15 at 16:29:12 PST, seller added the following information: One thing I forgot to note in my initial description is that the original Radio does not power on. This is probably a loose connection from a while back when I took it to a shop to see if they could have an aftermarket unit with Bluetooth connectivity installed. I have been using a Bose Soundlink Mini paired with my phone for the past two years instead and I'll include that with the sale of the car.On Dec-23-15 at 18:03:47 PST, seller added the following information: I found the Firestone Service receipt for all the work done just before my last road trip. Oil Change, all new belts, two new tires, alignment, New bearing and seals on front left (there was some noise at high speeds) - $896 total. I basically asked them to do a through inspection knowing I will be taking the car on the long road trip and bring it back to excellent condition. Its been on that trip and garaged since. If you are bidding on the item and would like to see a scan, send me a message.
