Vehicle Detail
1963 corvette coupe with numbers matching fuel injected motor. Recent off frame, 85% completed as seen in the photos. The car is ready for primer and paint, many new and nos parts. Frame and bird cage are rust free. This car has very low mileage (32711) Was made into a show car in the early 70's. There were very few changes to the car, but the custom metal flake paint was applied. It won many tropies in the 70's. In the 80's the custom paint aged and the car was parked in a building until owner passed away. I bought it from the estate in 2004. The car was nearly complete and in nice condition. New Al Knoch interior with leather comes with car. Have windows and all window moldings. Stainless moldings have been polished. Original 63 vette wheels and polished hubcaps, new radial tires, battery, brake and fuel lines, rebuilt motor and transmission. All body panels and factory seams in tact, very little body work needed and all panels are undamaged. Motor is FI [ RF code] but set up like 340 HP. Have FI unit distributor and air cleaner in very nice condition, sold separate. No exhaust system on car. Riverside red color code. Only serious buyers with funds to buy this car need inquire, if you do not have funds or are not serious about this car- don't waste my time and yours. I have history back to early 70s. This car sold as is and the information is to be acurate but I an not a NCRS judge. I got the car from the east and is now in northern Indiana 46563On Dec-13-15 at 16:41:54 PST, seller added the following information: I spent all day sunday responding to ???????????? adout the 1963 corvette. Pulleys are the deep groved and has the belt tensioner for the second belt. 340 hp aluminum intake manifold & AFB carb and 340 hp chrome aircleaner. The front pad has the rf sufix and the vin # stamped as it looks original fuel injection motor , now it is set up as a 340 hp motor. I have the new radiator hoses but they are not on. 2 1/2" exhaust manifolds. The motor was started and ran for just a couple of minutes. Car was driven into my traler. Block casting # 3782870 [as it should be] . Rust free frame was completly taken apart all parts were sandblasted clean , painted seni gloss black and put back with new parts as needed. brakes , brake & fuel lines replaced and new shocks. Original type master cylinder rebuilt. The car has side pipe muflers on it but thet are not mine so they will be removed. There will not be exhaust on the car. I used ncrs guide lines for the restoration, with a few exceptions. The previous owner had passed away and i bought it from the estate in 2004. I have talked to three guys that knew him and the car [ information i got from them is beleved to be true]. I am the third owner of this car! The NCRS dockument shows it was sold new by Cofer Motor Co in Smithfield, Va. dealer code 111 in zone 37. They were a GM dealer. I tried to find the first owner with out any luck. The second owner is from Duncanville, Pa. The second owner used this car for bank loan collateral for his business. I bought it on 9/13/2004. I am not new to restoration as i have been at it since i was a kid [then thees cars were new, not classics] Many of the classics i restored were show winners. I will get more photos and list them later this week. I just added two more. The photo of the pass seat is the original seat and the drivers seat back looks nearly as good, the botom drivers seatcover is bad. The interior was a little dirty but all in all in decent condition. The second photo [just added] showes the bird cage [no rust]. The car has a 4 speed - 4:11 posi rear end [the # show that they are original] I was told that the trans was rebuilt for new sincrows [it looked fresh to me so i did not rebuild]. The rear end was lo milage so i just replaced seals. Remember this car has 32711 miles on it. The car has the tach buzzer - signal seeking radio spair tire well & lid are there. I was told that the car had the sintered metallic brakes and fans with vented backing plates and dual line master cyl on it but, thees were missing when i got the car. On Dec-13-15 at 16:50:40 PST, seller added the following information: I was asked about the primer on the fenders and front end. The car was hand stripped bare and I used a gel coat primer on the front end and rear fenders. I ran out before i got to the top & fenders, They are naked fiberglass. On Dec-18-15 at 02:55:09 PST, seller added the following information: I found some more photos and will list them. The photo of the frame & motor was taken 2 years ago and these items were removed and replaced with the correct rebuilt numbered parts. 1963 corvette Wheels & new radial tires - plug wires - alternator - starter - valve covers - and the electric fuel pump removed. The frame has the correct white stencil painted part number on it the way it was from factory, body shim markings on frame and shims that were held on with masking tape [as factory]. Frame and other parts were sand blasted clean and painted semi-gloss [the photo makes it look slightly glosser than it is]. This frame had no rust issues, just a very light coat that you wold expect. I may have missed something so just send an email with ??? The ignition wiring shielding is now on the car.
