You are Bidding on a Used 1998 Ford Explorer 4.0L SHOC 6V Automatic Transmission 161,800 Miles 4WD 4 Door SUV, that I just Purchase from the City of Stamford (at Auction) as a Surplus Vehicle believing that it's Transmission was compatible with my 2002 Ford Explorer (which it's not), it was a Stamford Police Department, Department Head's Official Vehicle. The Day I Picked it up from the City I drove it to my Local Ford Dealer to have them Service it, they did the "Work's" and they took care of Two Open Ford Recall's (a Cruise Control Switch and Seat Bolt's). Ford Service found that the Battery is Weak and Need's to be Replaced, the Tires need to be Replaced, the Signal Light's are Out (my guess is when the PD Removed the Emergency Light's & Flasher's they failed to reconnect the Signal Light's?, the Fuse is Out?, the Controller went Bad?, or Column Switch has failed?). Ford Service also found that the Break's were Good, and the Wheel Barring's and Hub's are both Good. There is some Rust, the Rear Bumper shows the worst of it, like any Surplus Municipal Vehicle it need's a Good Cleaning and Detailing, the Drive home from Ford, it Drove very well, the Engine ran well, the Transmission Shifted fine, with Tires, a Battery and a little elbow grease it should be a solid Driver!. :-)
