Vehicle Detail

1969 Pontiac Custom S Convertible Only 2,379 made! Custom S model only produced in 1969. The Pontiac Custom S was a single model year car that was marketed between the Pontiac LeMans and the Pontiac Tempest. This one-year only nameplate replaced the previous model years Tempest Custom name in the Pontiac line-up. The Custom S was only available for the 1969 model year. The car was originally to be called the "Pontiac TC". I purchased this car in 2002 and was someday going to make it into a GTO Judge clone, glad that never happened as the trend now is towards original and this is a very rare original/one year production vehicle. I never touched this car and stored it for 13 years. The guy I purchased it from stored it since the inspection ran out in 1987 (part of the original PA inspection sticker is still on the windshield and you can see the "87" year). It hasn't been on the road for 28 years and has been stored indoors!. I am selling because I need the space in my building. Somebody put many, many coats of paint on the car years ago and that is probably why the body is so solid. The outer coats of paint are peeling and brush off easily. The underside of the car has a thin coating of dried mud which seems to have prevented deep corrosion. The light tan color on the underneath is actually the dried mud, NOT corrosion. Body is VERY solid for being 46 years old, floor pans and frame feel very solid but I just don't have the time for a critical inspection of everything. Wheel lip moldings have the usual rust, bumpers have rust, and lower valance panel (metal piece under front bumper which is readily available aftermarket) will need replaced due to rust. The windshield is cracked but I believe I have a replacement in my barn loft. Car has the original 8 track player, and will come with the complete documentation from the Pontiac Historical Services. I purchased the documentation years ago and it includes a copy of the window sticker (Car was originally sold by Trotter Pontiac in Niles, Ohio for $2,669.21). Interestingly, the Pontiac Historical Services included an original 8x10 black and white photo of a 1969 Pontiac LeMans Convertible because they did not have a photo for the Custom S due to its rareness. Car has a 350 engine and turbo 350 transmission. The hood latch is sticking and I can't get the second safety pin to release, so I can't open the hood. I am selling this car at such a low price as I don't have time to fix the hood release, clean the interior, see if the engine turns over, etc. Car is located in New Castle, PA and you are welcomed to inspect the car prior to bidding. The photos speak for themselves, the car is very solid. This is a NO RESERVE auction and somebody is going to get a GREAT DEAL on a very rare vehicle. Car is not drive-able and is a project. I have no way of confirming if the mileage is lower or higher and 100K where the odometer flips so I just put in 100K since it is a required field.. Bidders who have negative feedback or less than 10 feed-backs must contact me before bidding or your bid will be removed. Winning bidder to pay $200 deposit (PayPal accepted) within 48 hours of end of auction and pay balance and complete transaction within 7 days. Car is being sold as is/where is. Buyer responsible for all transfer fees and removal of vehicle. I can assist in loading the vehicle on a trailer.
