YOU ARE BIDDING ON A SUPER RARE 1966 MUSTANG T5 EXPORT CONVERTIBLE 289 V8 2V C CODE 3 SPEED MANUAL WITH DELUXE PONY PARCHMENT INTERIOR & IVY GOLD CARPET & DASH PAD. VIN 6T08C105759 Data Plate Information:Body 76B Convertible with Pony InteriorColor R Ivy Green MetallicTrim F8 Parchment Deluxe Pony Interior with Ivy Gold Carpet & Dash PadDate 08J 9-8-65DSO 95 Export (Germany)Axle 6 2.80 to 1Trans 1 3 speed Manual This is the only 1966 Mustang T5 ivy green metallic convertible with deluxe parchment and ivy gold insert pony interior known to exist in the world according to the Mustang T5 Registry. Before this car was found there were only 26 1966 T5 convertibles known to exist. Of those 21 have standard interiors and 5 have Pony interiors. The World Wide Breakdown Is: 1 in Canada (1) C Code standard interior 1 in Australia (1) C Code standard interior 11 in Europe (4) A Code standard interior (1) K Code standard interior (1) K Code pony interior - black (2) T Code standard interior (3) C Code standard interior 13 in USA (6) A Code standard interior (1) A Code Pony interior - blue & white (1) A Code Pony interior - black (1) K Code Pony interior - red (1) C Code Pony interior - black (3) C Code standard interior The documented history of this car shows it was purchased in New York City on October 20, 1965 by a US serviceman and shipped to his duty station in Germany. It was serviced by Willy Schonhofen Ford 4 times before being shipped back to Tampa, Florida in the Spring of 1967. At that time it had 30,709 miles on the odometer. The original owner's manual notes service over the next 10 years at which time the odometer read 138,500 miles. At some point after that the car was purchased by an automobile dealer in Atlanta, GA. According to the his widow, he had a private collection of Mustangs. This car has a total of 152,000 miles on the odometer. In 1988 it was parked outside at the Atlanta, GA home of the dealer where I recently purchased it along with two other 1966 Mustang convertibles. The car has Export upper shock tower mounts. These and the Export brace were used by Shelby on the 1965 & 1966 GT350. THIS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN MOLESTED OR RESTORED. WHAT YOU SEE WAS THERE WHEN THE CAR WAS BUILT IN SEPTEMBER OF 1965. IT IS TRULY A VERY RARE AND HIGHLY RESTORABLE MUSTANG. The car needs torque boxes, side rails, floor pans and a driver's door skin. I think the body panels can all be repaired and do not need to be replaced. The car is original except for the repaint and a Sear add-on AC unit. The only major parts missing are hub caps, car jack, spare tire, air cleaner and rear bottom seat. The motor is a C Code 289 V8 2V with the original motor tag still on it. The car comes with both T5 fender badges, export brace, heavy duty suspension and front wheel disc brakes. It also has a manual steering 3 speed manual transmission and a manual convertible top. This car will need a total restoration due to the fact that it sat outside and was uncovered for 28 years. The Mustang is located 50 miles NW of Atlanta, GA If you would like more photos of specific areas of the car or if you need more information, please call Gary at 770-595-8846 or send an email to heckgj@aol.com. BE SURE TO CHECK OUT MY OTHER EBAY AUCTIONS. I HAVE TWO MORE 1966 FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLES UP FOR BID.
