I bought the car about 6 months ago basically because it had no rust. I thought I would enjoy the auto stick but I'm not a big fan. Since I've had the car I've done: 1 tie rod end wheels and tires carb (Yesterday) ignition switch door cards fuel lines steering wheel bearing shocks. The guy I bought it from just did the clutch. (Have receipt) Has aftermarket seats, side mirrors, and cal-look trim. Have no idea what the actual miles are. Gauges and lights work. Never had a radio. Heat is removed by prior owner. Here is the problem I have had since I bought the car. It starts right up and runs fine until warm. Then it looses power and runs poorly. The it just dies. You wait 5 minutes and it starts right up. I am an accountant who likes to tinker but I have lost my patience. Could be a fuel pump- but I'm done guessing. Also I didn't realign the car since doing the tie rod end so it shimmies at speeds over 50 mph. I suggest if you live far away it should be trailered. Also, I can't figure out the ignition wiring so I have a switch behind the seat that engages the starter. I have 3 Porsche's and 2 other Karmann Ghias. Even if I put the money into it I will honestly never drive it. Plus my kid is going to college. It's a great car for $3,000. The buy it now is $ 3,125 because Ebay takes $125! I'm into it for over $4,000 but whatever. It has no rust and is sure to be a great cruiser once all the little issues are sorted.
