In fact, Ford Special Vehicle Engineering manager John Colloti made sure that unless a piece contributed to the R’s performance parameters, it was not going to make the cut. Gone were the sound deadening, insulation, radio, back seat and air conditioning that are standard on virtually any production car; so was the Mustang’s standard 4.6 L engine, replaced by a hand-built 5.4 L Triton modular V-8 engine generating 385 horses and 385 lb/ft of torque with factroy billet internals. A Tremec T-56 six-speed joins the fun along with specially calibrated 4-wheel independent suspension, vented Brembo disc brakes, 18-inch alloy wheels with sticky BF Goodrich G-Force tires and firmly-bolstered Recaro bucket seats. This 1 Owner Cobra R has been Dealer owned and maintained since new by the owner of Swanson Ford in California. Every piece of Documentation is accompanied with the car from pictures being built at the factory, window sticker, SVT certificate etc. The SVT certificate reveals that this is in fact the last Cobra R to ever roll off the assembly line. This specific Cobra was ordered with a "Spare Package" and a 'Decal Package", so it will come with some extras! With the emissions being so strict in California this car still remained street registered and SMOG legal, even with the limited production Bassani exhuast.
