Features a 180-degree flat-plane crankshaft permitting a firing order that alternates between the two cylinder banks. •Interior features — include RECARO® cloth sport seats with Miko® suede, flat-bottom steering wheel and performance-oriented gauges. Includes darker finishes in lieu of bright chrome to help reduce driver distractions during on-track driving. •Aerodynamic design — a new aluminum hood and front quarter panels along with a front splitter and rear diffuser that that help maximize the balance between coefficient of drag and downforce for performance-based aerodynamics. •NEW Integrated Driver Control (IDC) — features five unique modes that tailor ABS, stability control, traction control, steering effort, throttle mapping, MagneRide™ suspension tuning and exhaust settings. •Track-Ready Braking System — includes Brembo® six-piston fixed front calipers, Brembo four-piston rear calipers, cross-drilled two-piece brake rotors (15.5-inch front and 14.9-inch rear). •Performance-Tuned 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels — 10.5 inches wide in the front, 11.0 inches in the rear are mounted on state-of-the-art Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires with GT350-specific sidewall construction, tread and formulated compound for maximum grip. Authentic Performance Product Development The all-new Shelby GT350 is a thoroughbred capable of tackling the world’s most challenging roads and racetracks. •Original Shelby GT350 was introduced in 1965 and established the Mustang performance credentials winning SCCA Production B class and beating Corvette and all world-class competitors •The new GT350 builds on Carroll Shelby’s initial idea: transform a great everyday car into a dominant road racer •Every component and shape is optimized to help improve performance •Designed to be the most balanced, nimble and exhilarating Mustang yet Performance The high-revving, naturally aspirated 5.2L V8 produces 526 horsepower with a torque peak of 429 lb.-ft. Features include: •First production V8 from Ford with a flat-plane crankshaft — typically found in racing applications or exotic European sports cars •The 180-degree (rather than the usual 90 degrees in a typical cross-plane crank) flat-plane layout permits a cylinder firing order that alternates between the two cylinder banks providing evenly spaced exhaust pressure pulses — which will help provide better breathing to produce a distinctive, throaty howl from its four exhaust tips •Features an exceptionally broad torque curve that provides an enormous amount of performance •A standard performance-tuned Torsen differential with 3.73:1 axle ratio optimizes cornering grip and straight-line traction Chassis and Components The torsional stiffness in the new Mustang platform has been increased 28 percent over the previous model. That stiff structure ensures the suspension geometry remains consistent even under hard driving on back roads and tracks. Other features include: •Front stiffness is further improved with an injection-molded carbon-fiber composite grille opening •The front track width has been increased as well as spring rates and bushings to give excellent handling and performance and confidence •Ride height has been reduced in comparison to the Mustang GT •Reducing unsprung mass helps the wheels respond quickly to the contours of the road and driver input •Shelby GT350 features six-piston Brembo® front brake calipers and 15.5” two-piece cross-drilled iron discs mounted to aluminum hats; at the rear, 14.9” rotors with four-piston Brembo brake calipers •Continuously controlled MagneRide™ dampers vary the stiffness of the dampers and provide ultra-quick responsiveness to changing road conditions Exterior Design The Shelby GT350 was designed with the goal of improving the overall performance of the vehicle. Ford engineers carefully sculpted body panel to optimize the aero shape of the car in order to find the perfect balance between downforce drag and cooling airflow. Other features include: •The bodywork from the windshield forward is unique to this high-performance model •Aluminum hood has been lowered and sloped, compared to the base Mustang, and tightly wrapped around the engine for the smallest possible aerodynamic structure •The fascia has been resculpted to give the GT350 a unique look and provide an aggressive front splitter which maximizes pressure, while a ducted belly pan delivers significant downforce •At the rear, an aggressive functional diffuser doing double duty to increase downforce provides cooling air to the differential cooler •Aluminum front fenders unique to the Shelby GT350 accommodate the wider front track and wider wheel arches •Front fender vents work with vented inner fenders to draw out turbulent air in the wheel wells and smoothly direct it down the side of the car Interior Design — Performance Close at Hand The interior of the GT350 has been optimized for driving, beginning with RECARO® sport seats — unique to this car. Hundreds of hours and many prototypes went into developing a seat that is comfortable in both daily driving and on the track.
