1978 BMW R100S Motorcycle with Documented 12,033 miles. WOW! and it looks it! This has to be one of the nicest R100S on the PLANET. 12,033 in 37 years averages out to 225 miles per year. Amazing survivor! I Purchased bike this from the Estate of a Brookline, MA collector. This was his rider for many years. In October 2003, with 11,960 miles showing, the BMW was given a full service and was put into long term storage with the rest of his collection. The BMW sat for about 12 years when about 2 years ago, it was pulled out. Given a full service, New Battery, and a set of brand New Pirrelli's and put back on the road . A total of 73 miles were put on the bike before the owner passed away. CONDITION: The bike looks almost new. Looks more like a year old bike, than 37 yrs old. CLEAN, No rust, Cases are not oxidized. Chrome is all nice. Gauges are clear and all in working order. PAINT: Beautiful original RED paint. Very Fresh and Bright. Normally this red fades out to orange over the years. This Red is as bright as ever. ( proper storage ) Paint has it's share of scratches as you would expect. Have found no obvious dents. Engine: Runs like new. ( barely broken in at 12,033 miles ). Bike is very fast. Tires: Brand New Pirrelli's ( still have the nubs on them ). Bodywork: Side covers are new replacement OEM. Family could not locate the originals. Documentation: Detailed notes on service work done along with work receipts from local Boston BMW Dealers. Factory Workshop manuals included. Accessories: Bike is Stone Stock Original with the additions of an Oil Cooler and the Krauser Engine Guards. CONS: Only flaws I can find. Bike appears to have gone down at one time. 1. Right crash bar and valve cover are scratched. ( easy fix ) 2. Right Muffler has a slight scratch. Hard to see. 3. Sport Fairing has an inside mount repaired. Looks very well done. On the outside of the fairing is a slight spider crack in the paint. Not easy to see. will include photo. Here is your chance to own an Iconic BMW Motorcycle.
