Vehicle Detail
1991 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce VIN: ZARBB32N2M6005402 88,xxx original miles triple black (exterior, interior, convertible top) 5 speed manual enthusiast owned and properly maintained all original Alfa Romeo booklets and manuals Clean & clear history Service records and receipts Clean & clear title in hand ready to transfer to the new ownerRust-free and very solid throughoutBrand new Pirelli tires all aroundMechanicals: Starts, runs, and drives excellent with a steady idle and tons of power throughout the entire RPM range. The all aluminum 2.0 motor pulls hard with full compression in all 4 cylinders. Clutch is newer and feels great, as does the transmission which shifts smoothly throughout all 5 gears and into reverse. Suspension is sporty and tight, yet comfortable and compliant. Up to date on service with fresh fluids, filters, hoses, pumps, and belts. The car is super reliable and needs nothing mechanically — just a new owner to love and enjoy it. The A/C currently does not work, and I have never had it diagnosed during my ownership due to the fact that it is a classic convertible which is only driven on nice sunny days with the top down -- so I honestly never had any use for the A/C. Exterior: The timeless Pininfarina-design of this beautiful Italian roadster still looks incredible. Although not 100% perfect, the body is straight and the deep black paint is smooth and glossy. There is some normal minor imperfections to be expected of a 24 year old used car. All chrome and glass is near perfect with no oxidizing or pitting. The convertible soft top looks and functions great with no rips or tears whatsoever. The rear plastic window is great as well, with none of the common yellowing or fading. The top goes up & down with ease, locking tightly to seal the interior from noise and weather. The door jambs, rocker panels, wheel wells, undercarriage, and engine bay are all rust-free and clean. Unfortunately, there is one dent I would like to make note of -- on the edge of the driver's side headlight bucket. I purchased the car this way and never got around to fix it. Interior:Overall very clean and tidy. The seats are excellent and look brand-new, having recently been reupholstered in black leather. The door panels are nice and clean too, along with the carpets and floor mats. The dashboard, instrument cluster, and center console are all very nice with no cracking. Lastly, the trunk is very clean and looks to have been used sparingly. The interior of the convertible soft top has seen better days, however it is no reason to change the entire top (barely noticeable). Wheels/Tires:The original factory Veloce equipped "phone-dial" 15" wheels are straight and true with no oxidizing or pitting to their original finish. Brand-new Pirelli (all-season 195/60) tires all around with less than 100 miles. Electrics: All exterior & interior lights are bright and function as they should. There are no warning or check-engine lights on in the instrument cluster. The driver's side power window moves up & down perfectly with normal speed, however the passenger side is currently not working properly. Both left & right power mirrors move in all directions as they should. Radio and speakers are good, and the power antenna goes up & down with normal speed. Summary:Being an S4 (1991-1994), this Spider not only comes equipped with many modern creature comforts not found in the earlier models -- but it is also the best looking of all four generations. This particular example is also a Veloce, which was the highest trim level offered on the S4 Spider. Surpassed only by the S1 (1966-1969), the S4 is the most desirable generation of the Alfa Romeo Spider -- and certainly the most valuable. I have personally owned multiple examples of all four generations, and the S4 is truthfully superior to its predecessors both mechanically and cosmetically. The Alfa Romeo Spider in general, but especially the S4, has been steadily increasing in value over the past 10+ years. Most classic car collectors and analysts agree that the S4 Spider is an excellent investment. Nice examples regularly trade anywhere between $15,000 to $25,000. This car is ready-to-go, yet I am looking to sell it for substantially less. Be careful of those that have been neglected and need more money invested into them than they are worth. Don't take my word for it, do your own research. In short, this is the greatest convertible Italian sports car that can be had in this price range. It is very reliable and user friendly -- and although parts are readily accessible, it is not a fragile and finicky car that needs constant maintenance. They are very economical to own, and drives like a modern car while maintaining that unexplainable feeling that comes from a classic Italian roadster. Lastly, it is designed by the legendary Pininfarina. Qualifies for collector/classic auto insurance, further lowering its cost of ownership. Disclaimer:Please understand that this is a 24 year old used car with 88,xxx miles, so please have realistic expectations. It is not brand-new, and not 100% perfect. Having said that, it is incredible for its age and will not disappoint. This is an Alfa Romeo Spider you will truly be proud to own. I have tried to describe the car as thoroughly and honestly as possible, however I still prefer any interested parties to come see the car in person. If this is not possible, I will do my best to answer any questions you may have and send you any additional photos in order to help you make an informed decision.
