Vehicle Detail
Here is a real collector find, a 1982 Fiat X1/9! It's a garage find survivor with 28,000 original miles. The car was purchased new by the original owner in 1986. I purchased the car from them this spring. The car was stored in an insulated garage. It was never driven in the winter and has never seen salt. The car was parked in a garage in 1998 and sat there until this year. The car was buried underneath household items and has some storage damage. When I got the car I drained the 17 year old gas out of it. The tank was full which was probably a good thing. The fuel was not that bad, I mixed it with fresh gas and ran it in my truck. I put fresh 91 octane non-ethanol fuel in it. This car has never had ethanol fuel in it. The car was then started and it runs fine. The fuel, coolant, and brake lines and hoses are all original but do not leak. The car runs fine and the cooling system cycles as it should including the electric fan. I took the brakes apart and cleaned everything and re-assembled them. I drove the car a few miles with no problems or vibrations. The tires are old but run out good. The car has a new battery and starter and I washed and waxed it with cleaner wax. The car looks good but the mostly original paint is checked and has some fading. There is a very small spot of rust in the driver side windshield pillar shown in the pics. That is the only rust on this car, ever. The interior is original and there are no tears, cracks, or rips. There are some reflections in some of the pics, it's not an issue with the paint. Everything appears to be in working condition including the headlight doors and all the lights. There is a full spare tire behind the passenger seat and the owners manual, jack, and tool kit are in the trunk. The car runs and drives as is for your basic collector. If you wanted to daily drive it, you may or may not have to put more work into it than I did, It's an old car. This is a fun car, I bought it for my wife to drive but she found a Chevy II that she wanted, so this car needs to go. There is no warranty or refund expressed or implied. This car is 33 years old and is not perfect. Please make sure that if you bid you can pay, and you're sure you can own it, and you can afford shipping etc… Serious buyers only please.
