Vehicle Detail
1972 Chevy V8 Vega, I bought this in 1998 as a completely stock car with 62k miles. The next couple of years it sat in storage while i collected parts and drivetrain. In 2001 I put in a rebuilt 355 sbc with a rebuilt full manual turbo 350 transmission and narrowed 12 bolt with 4:56 gears. Car ran/drove but not well, so back in storage it went. Fast forward to the winter of 2013 I dropped the car off at a friends shop that builds/restores cars of all kinds. With the following list of NEW parts to installed to get the car where it is today. Griffin radiator Flex-a-lite dual electric fan set up 140 amp alternator Overkill racing tubular upper/lower control arms front - powder coated black Overkill racing tubular upper/lower control arms rear - powder coated black front and rear coil springs front and rear shocks subframe connectors battery box Optima battery NOS header panel - paint matched NOS valance panel - paint matched windshield low mileage S10 Extreme spindles/dual piston calipers/rotors I'm sure I'm forgetting something but these are what comes to mind and is $4k plus in parts. Motor and trans are from a car I bought when owner gave up on his project, I don't have any paperwork but saw both of them during the build, the 12 bolt came from a V8 Vega parts car I bought. Car runs as you would expect a sub 3,000lb car with 355 and 4:56 gears, point and shoot. Just put on new Cragar SS wheels (15 x 4 front 15 x 7 rear) and BFG Radial TA tires. Comes with new carpet in the box. Car looks decent with the 20+ year old paint wet sanded and buffed. This is a driver NOT a show car. Car is from S. Carolina (1972-1994) Tennessee (1994-2010) clean rust-free/original floor pans, rails, etc. This is a running driving project I take to the local cruise in's but still needs work, such as: 1. wiper motor dead, 2. horn doesn't work 3. e-brake out of car The above issues will probably have the car fail inspection, please check your local inspection laws. Because of that this is being sold as a project. 4. speedo off about 20 mph 5. motor/trans has drips, I would just pull them and re-gasket them completely 6. heater/defroster unit has been removed All the hard/expensive work is done, parts and labor during that winter was just over $8000.00. It's quick and always draws a crowd where ever it's parked. I'm moving to a 2005 - 2006 GTO. Please ask any questions you may have, if you want to talk send me your number and i'll call. Thanks for looking, Todd.
