Vehicle Detail
I started building this Z28 for myself and my mechanic lost his shop space. What you are looking at is essentially a new car. The paint is dirty in the pictures due to shop dust - one buff and it will shine right up. Long term you probably want to repaint it. There is ZERO rust on it anywhere (see the pictures of the underside) and it is the original sheet metal. Finding something like this where I live never happens. This car was put in a garage by someone who was going to rebuild it. When I bought it, it had no engine, BUT completely new suspension, brakes - basically the whole chassis, and cleaned up sheet metal underneath. It looks like it is just off the dealers lot underneath. And all the glass is good, no chips or cracks. I put a newly rebuilt 305 (5.0L) V8 in it that I had built by a racer in Connecticut with internals setup for a turbo. It has a torque cam - you add the turbo to get the horsepower with boost. The plan with this car was to fuel inject and add the turbo. Will be super fun with the Muncie 4 speed in it. New clutch too. Basically, all of the parts of the car except the sheet metal, wiring and interior have ZERO miles on them. So why sell it? Basically, I have too much going on and I'm not going to finish it before the winter. My wife says it has to get out of the driveway and won't let me stall anymore. So there it is. If you are mechanical, spend a long weekend finishing the list below and you have a $10k - $15k car depending on how nice you make it. If the bid stays too low, then I'll just store it and finish it. The reserve is HALF of what I have in it now. ALL THE PARTS ARE THERE, but here's the work it needs; 1. Wire the starter 2.Install passenger door glass 3. Install clutch linkage 4. Put gear oil in tranny 5. Install the drive shaft 6. Install the sway bar 7. Bolt on the front clip. 8. Put the interior back together 9. Go for a ride Right now it is setup bone stock just to get it running. I had the shop fab pipes to make the stock exhaust manifolds work. The dual exhaust is setup for headers, but I have not put them on yet. I have a pair of stainless tube headers for this that will come with the car. If you want to put those on and/or turbo it later, that is your call. Finally, if you buy this project you are creating a contract. Full payment will be required within 7 days. I reserve the right to cancel bids from bidders with zero feedback. Cal is also for sale locally so I can end this listing at any time. Paypal payment preferred. Please read the terms. Good luck and thanks for looking!
