The pictures tell most of the story, here is the rest: This is a NON-SMOKING, PET-FREE, ONE OWNER TRADE-IN from our dealership. As you'll be able to tell from the photos, it's a pretty nice looking car with a very clean interior that shows little wear. As it says in the heading, it probably needs a clutch. It runs and drives just fine as it is, BUT in order to back up you must first put it in reverse gear without the engine running. Trying to shift to reverse with the engine running results in a lot of gear grinding - and no reverse. Our technician says he'd start with a new clutch because at this mileage it's probably due for one anyhow. He thinks the cause of the grinding is that the throwout bearing isn't going far enough (due to a "bad" clutch) to engage the synchronizers and it may need a slave cylinder as well. Use your own judgment! Other than that, the hood needs re-painted as someone used the wrong paint on the repair and it has what could be termed lacquer checking as shown in the closeup photo. It also had an oil leak we noticed from leaving it in our shop overnight. Our tech says it was due to the drain plug being installed crooked. We tried to re-thread it but our tool won't fit in the space available on an Si so count on getting that done or installing a whole new oil pan before driving it very far.
