Vehicle Detail

For sale: Super clean and dry 76 Dodge Power Wagon W100 4x4 original survivor truck with desirable Adventurer Sport package. From the high desert of Montana, land of the sagebrush and prickly pear cactus. Lightly used by an older owner and never mudded, wheeled, or hooned. Really a survivor with 100 percent original high impact Sunstone (Vitamin C orange) paint, original spare tire carrier and original jack, handle and lug wrench. I am an engineer by vocation, but have a keen interest in vintage trucks and 4x4s, and own a large collection of same. Since I'm not Jay Leno, occasionally I have to sell one, and sometimes, it's a special rig. I've been in the hobby for 35 years, and have seen few true survivors like this. I'll do my best to describe the truck below, and I'll try to limit the superlatives and let the vehicle speak for itself. Exterior: All original, straight, and 98 percent rust free. A couple of small spots, one behind rear wheel and one at bottom of front fender. In arid land, we only get 10 inches of total moisture per year and sand, not salt, is used on the roads. Underside of truck is exceptionally clean. I got a quote to fix the two spots and repaint the white on the lower part of the truck, and it was very reasonable, but I thought I would leave it all original instead. The original orange paint is thin in spots. A few small dents and scratches typical of a truck this age as shown. Inside box wheel wells are in decent condition. I don't have the original mirrors. Glass is good, windshield is new. Sliding camper window has pentastar logo and appears original. Chrome has dings, but no pitting. Windows are tinted. Grille is dented, but they are available NOS on Ebay for $295. I didn't get the Adventurer Sport tailgate moldings with the truck, but I have located 3 of the 4 pieces locally and I could facilitate purchase of those for the winning bidder at additional cost. I was thinking of putting the Macho Power Wagon tailgate decal on instead, like the truck in this article has: http://bangshift.com/bangshiftxl/truckin-a-right-this-1978-dodge-w100-power-wagon-is-survivor-perfection/ Interior: Good original condition and looks great. I had a small tear on driver side of seat professionally repaired. Original floor mat has some tears. Windows are tinted and aftermarket stereo installed - but doors not cut for speakers, they are floor mounted. Most everything works as far as I can tell including radio, wipers, heater, etc. Stereo cuts out occasionally and then comes back on - may be a loose wire. Mechanical: Starts, runs, and drives out fine. Original 318 works well with no noticeable smoke (other than puff at startup from valve seals), noises or issues. Does use a bit of oil as it was down a quart after driving it this summer. Very healthy sounding Magnaflow exhaust system. Cold blooded, takes a while to warm up, may need choke adjustment. There are a few drips under truck if left overnight, like most vintage 4x4s, but nothing horrible. American Outlaw wheels and 31 x 10.50 Kelly tires are new - $1000 worth. I have what I think are the original white spoke wheels and I can include those if desired. Really no issues I can think of except fuel tank solenoid must have quit, as auxiliary tank has been bypassed and just running off cab tank. I didn't mess with it, just ran off front tank. Auxillary tank does not leak and has stale fuel in it. Pricing/Misc: You are welcome and encouraged to personally inspect the truck prior to bidding. I'm not a dealer, I don't do this for a living, I'm an enthusiast. If you'd like any detailed photos of a specific area of the truck, just ask! I have many photos of it but will be glad to take more if needed. Please ask any questions you like before bidding. You will be answered quickly and honestly. Transport is readily available and probably cheaper than fixing major rot on a Midwest or East Coast truck. Title is clear and in my name, ready for you to sign as purchaser. After the sale, I can store the truck outside for up to 30 days free, after that $100 per month storage will be due. Buyer needs to get insurance as soon as truck is paid for as I will cancel mine at that time. Keep in mind that with all cars and trucks, THEY LOOK BETTER IN PICTURES THAN IN PERSON. This is not a minty creampuff, just a solid truck to drive while you restore and IT IS NOT PERFECT BY ANY MEANS.
