Vehicle Detail
1959 Austin Healey 3000 (VIN # HBT7L4423) that is a very worthy candidate for restoration. The car lived in Tucson and Southern AZ most of its life, and has very little rust compared to others that I've seen, the frame is solid, the body is straight, doors and trunk line up well and shut nicely, even the chrome is in great shape. I'm not an expert on these cars by any means, I picked the car up for my uncle in KY (who made me drop everything and get it for him when he saw it) and he neglected to tell my aunt about his new "plans" until I already had the car. Let's just say she's not ok with another "project" after his recent heart surgery and the fact that he has several already. I am an RV dealer (mostly Airstream) and in real estate, I've owned several American classics and muscle cars over the years, but never an Austin Healey, so please bear with me if I don't have all of the info or answers that you're looking for- I'll do my best. I also have a LOT of pictures, I can only include 24 in this ad, so if you'd like something specific please email me and I'll send it to you. The car is NOT running, it has been sitting for about 7 years according to the previous owner. It belonged to a prominent attorney in Tucson since at least the early 70's (maybe all of its life, but I only have receipts dating back into the 70's) and in the late 70's he had the small block Chevy engine installed, and a 4 speed tranny (I know, I know- DON'T yell at me- I didn't do it!!), 4 barrel Carb, MSD ignition, dual point distributor, etc, and it appears to have been done very well- money wasn't an issue for him. I'm told by his family that he had 2 Healey's, and the other one he put Ford running gear in, I guess he was pretty well known back in the 80's for speeding around Tucson in his red and blue Austin Healey's (he passed away in 2013). The man that I got the car from, bought it in 1983 from the attorney, he drove it for several years on and off, and at some point he took the gas tank out of it to have it cleaned out, and he "lost interest" in the car at some point after that, so he just set the tank back in the trunk and never connected it- and probably never cleaned it either. So, here she is today- in need of a new home where she'll be appreciated, restored, and put back on the road. For several years, the car sat outside under a car port, with a cloth car cover and a tarp over it- not exactly ideal, and for a few years it was actually just sitting outside in the sun (and rain) so the paint and interior suffered; unfortunately, so did the front floor pans, and there is some rust-through around the doors (see pics) but the majority of the car, trunk, rear deck, frame, frame-rails etc is very solid- again, I have plenty of pictures and close-ups of the good AND the bad (I'll get some of the floor pans with carpet pulled back) that I can email because I can't fit them all here. The top bows are in good shape, and there is a top and a boot, the top is TOAST, but will make a good pattern- the boot looks like it may clean up ok, but would never be good enough for anything except keeping dust out of the car I think. There are miscellaneous spare parts, not sure what everything is, got a picture of the books and some of the larger parts, windows (they're plastic, not glass- not sure if that's normal??) etc. The engine is free, and the old owner claims that it has very little mileage on it (odometer reads 13,937 and AZ title states 0015000/Box C, neither one of which is accurate I'm sure), if it matters to you, it probably wouldn't take too much to get it going, I just didn't think about it because I assume (if you're anything like my uncle) that the buyer would pull that running gear out anyhow... unless you actually want to drive the car in the end and prefer the reliability of a Chevy small block ; ) Either way, I think this car is an excellent candidate for a restoration. It rolls nicely, tires are dated 1989 but seem to hold air and the trans goes into gears and neutral, brake pedal just goes to the floor, so no brakes. Shipping is the buyer's responsibility, but I'll help in any way that I can. I also have an open-deck car hauler with a winch and may be willing to deliver to Southern CA for a fee, I have family there, and deliver Airstreams to the ports often, usually for around $550 depending on where. Please take a look at all of the pictures, they describe it better than I can ***You have to "Click" on the smaller picture in the upper left-hand corner in order to bring up the pictures in the Full-Size window*** EBay's newer feature, and some folks are still not familiar with it. ** Please feel free to contact me any time if you need any additional info, would like to come and see the car, or just have questions: 520-404-1975 cell. (Heather Anderson). I am located in Southern AZ near Fort Huachuca (about an hour SE of Tucson), right on highway 90, easy to find- and the weather's GREAT this time of year. I am a licensed/bonded AZ auto dealer... NOT by choice, but because here in the great state of AZ if you buy/sell more than 3 vehicles (of any kind) in any 12 month period, you have to get a license. I am a classic car and Airstream nut, I also have a ranch/wedding venue, horses, trailers, etc... let's just say I bought and sold a few too many for the state's liking, and due to the fact that they need revenue desperately- they decided to fine me when I sold a few more that what I'm "allowed", long story short- I jumped through all of their hoops and got my license. Full payment is due within 7 days of the auction's end, and the car must be picked up within 15 days of payment (unless other arrangements have been made). Certified funds, cash in person or bank wire-transfer only. Payments MUST clear before the car/title leaves my sight. There are no "title fees" or "doc fees" like the typical dealers have because as far as I can tell, that's just a way to get an extra couple hundred dollars from someone. Please check my feedback, you'll see that I don't sell very many vehicles- but I do have 100% positive feedback on what I have sold over the years. I do NOT go to auctions and buy cars to sell, anything that I have sold or will sell either belonged to me or someone that I know or is a "consignment" type of sale. I have never liked most car dealers and am not all that thrilled to be "one of them". *** This is a USED VEHICLE (56 years old to be exact) and is being sold as-is/where-is with no warranty expressed or implied. This is a PROJECT car and needs complete RESTORATION. Again, please call me with any questions or to come see it: 520-404-1975. I would welcome and recommend that you come see it or have a 3rd party inspection. I will make it available throughout the auction for any and all inspections, just call and we'll set up a time. Please understand that the description is only my opinion, yours may be different, I have done my best to take many pictures and describe the car to the best of my ability. Just remember, we all tend to look better in pictures than in person- that's just the way it is. This Agreement shall be governed in all respects by the laws of the Great State of Arizona as they apply to agreements entered into and to be performed entirely within Arizona between Arizona residents, without regard to conflict of law provisions. You agree that any claim or dispute you may have against Ever After Ranch Motors LLC must be resolved exclusively by a state or federal court located in Cochise County, Arizona, you agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of the courts located within Cochise County, Arizona for the purpose of litigating all such claims or disputes. *** I reserve the right to end this listing at any time for any reason as the car may be listed for sale locally as well.*** Payment methods accepted must be in the form of Certified funds, bank wire-transfer, or cash in person. Due to concerns of fraud, if you're paying via cashier's check, it must clear my account before the trailer/title leaves my sight. I do NOT require any immediate deposit; I DO however, require CONTACT with the buyer within 24 hours of winning the auction, just send me an email or give me a call so that I know who you are, etc. If there is no contact, I reserve the right to sell the car to the next bidder. Email through Ebay or call my cell any time at 520-404-1975. PLEASE NOTE: I do NOT send "Second Chance Offers"- if you get one, please report it to Ebay and do NOT respond. There is a scam going around right now that everyone should be aware of, and it involves second chance offers. Just remember, if you get any email that "says" it's from ebay, it will be in your "Ebay messages folder", if it's not there- it's probably a scam.**Taxes: Arizona Residents: Must pay Sales tax (6.1%) as we are located in Cochise County.**Any Non-Arizona Residents Using a Shipping Company: Pay No sales tax. The eBay final bid price is your price, you may have to pay taxes in your home state upon registration depending on where you live, but as long as I have a copy of a receipt/Bill of Lading from a licensed shipping company to show the state of AZ that the vehicle was picked up from me directly to be shipped out of state, you pay no tax here.**Non-Arizona (U.S) Residents Taking Delivery in Arizona: Pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 42-5061(U), out of state buyers that take delivery in Arizona will pay sales tax according to their home state's tax rate. All customers who take delivery in Arizona will receive a receipt showing taxes paid in Arizona to avoid being double charged by their home state. Licensed dealers do not pay sales tax.**Non-U.S Residents Taking Delivery in Arizona: Pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 42-5061(U), foreign citizens who take delivery in Arizona are subject to 6.8% state and County sales tax. Licensed dealers do not pay sales tax. Thanks for taking the time to look at my auction and good luck bidding!!
