Vehicle Detail
This Goat was purchased new locally and has the original buyers order, build sheet, warranty folder, and has been PHS documented. Interior is pretty much in tact with no cracks in the dash or dash pad ,console has no cracks ,back seat has no tears but both fronts need reupholstering, all dash lights work as do headlights and dome light, tail light are not working. The Left front grill mesh is missing, but someone has them listed on EBAY right now for 85.00 or so. The 455 was rebuilt with for $2000.00 in 1997 and still climbs up to 60 pounds of oil pressure! - shortly later it was parked according to mileage and receipts. The 455 Y4 code may be date coded correct as they only made them in 72 as a 455 which would be a great base for a 455 H.O. tribute Goat! I tried to get back there to read the 455 date code but old age won that battle. as stated above this one will require a fair amount of metal work , but the price is right for a GTO That they only produced 5,811 total models- second only to 1973 with 4,806 total. All PHS documents, build sheets, and respective provenance will be included as well as a cool prior owner auto trader add for her stating 55,000 original mile show winner from around 1995! This Goat deserves a chance at being another True GTO to be saved! keep in mind this will need to be winched on a transporter , I have had many long tractor trailer Auto transporters out front with no problems. Also has 6X heads, Aluminum Edelbrock intake. reserve is low!On Sep-22-15 at 15:49:13 PDT, seller added the following information: Update! Verified 455 is stamped on the underside of the block! inspected the frame front to back and it is very solid with exception of surface rust just around the very rear area. floor pans need patching in front of the passenger seat to the toe board and a one foot (approx.) area in front of the driver seat,The rest appear to be pretty good to go. starter issue, hit the starter with a hammer a few times and hooked the battery back up-hit the ignition switch to start mode and got the same result as before. maybe the solenoid sticking?
