Vehicle Detail
1986 MONTE CARLO SS 76K Original miles – 1 Owner – Super Sport NO RESERVE Thanks for checking out my 4th Gen, 1986 Monte Carlo - Super Sport. If you are ready to start hitting the local car shows, then this is the car for you. I absolutely love these cars, ever since they came out, 1981-88 I think Chevrolet got it 100% right, they killed everyone in Nascar at the time, these cars are tried and proven, and just have a timeless body style. I would have loved to have one of these cars back in the day, one of my friends parents bought him a new one in High School, I was so jealous. This is the first time I have ever had the chance to have one of these cars, that is the best thing about doing what I do, I get to own one car at a time, and relive my youth, and cars that I dreamed of having. There are not many cars out of the 80's, that can hold a candle to the Monte Carlo Super Sport styling. HISTORY: This car was bought brand new on 5/7/86, by some very nice local folks in the Portland area. They bought it new at Hubbard Chevrolet who are still in business today, they decided to turn it loose from a collection of cars the currently own and needed to make room. After owning the car for almost 30 years it was time to let it go, only driving it 76K original miles, they got their money's worth and enjoyment. They traded in their 1968 Ford Bronco on the Monte Carlo SS, they paid $14,413.50 for it at the time, it stickered for $15,182. I have most of the Registrations, receipts, dealer paperwork, owners manual and other various paperwork. I even have the original Hubbard Chevrolet plate inserts, and the Key chain from GMAC that was given to them in the finance office. This car spent almost its whole life in a garage, the interior has very little wear, this is a true Survivor, 1 owner car with only 76K on the odometer. When I first bought it from them, I hopped right in and drove it 150 miles home, no problems just a dream to drive. Did I mention that the AC blows ICE COLD, well it does, and the interior is near mint, non-smoker, still almost smells new. This Monte Carlo, has NO RUST, we have very mild winters, and cool summers, and we don't salt the roads. Please take your time and check out all the photos there are a little over 70 photos. Give me a call if you have any questions I would be glad to talk to you more about this Monte Carlo Super Sport. Thanks, JasonTHIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION, STARTING IT OUT AT $19.86 AND LETTING IT ROLL, TOP BID GETS IT!!!! The car is in very nice condition, no signs of any accidents, no signs of any paint work, besides very minor rock chips from being driven, were some have been touched up. It is wearing its original GM white paint, which has a very nice gloss to it still. No body damage, no dings down the side, extremely nice for a 30 year old car. A few light chips and very small light scratches, some have been touched up, but pretty minor for a 30 year old car. You will see a few minor spider webbing in the front and rear bumper, again minor and very typical on these cars. The paint is in very nice condition, this is one that you will want to park out away from other cars at the store, and a great car for any parade, local cruise in or car show, this is the type of car that you could take to any car show, and possible win a Survivor award in your class, it is a very nice car. It still has all of its factory decals on it. Some of them on the sides, have some small pieces were small chips came off, but overall the decals are really nice condition. The passenger quarter above the rear wheel well, on the decal, it is separated a little, and pealing up a little. Anyways, this is a clean car, that you won’t be afraid to drive, but at the same time you want to be careful where you take it. The glass is all in nice shape, no major chips in the windshield, very clean and crisp. The interior is in awesome condition, truly amazing. The seats show a very little little wear on them, no one has ever sat in the rear seat. The only wear really on the seats, on the drivers side, you can see in the pictures the vinyl on the side bolster, is scuffed a little, from were the seat beat rubbed back and forth on it. The carpet is amazing, I do have the original GM floor mats for it as well, the are maroon. The drivers side floor mat does have some wear on it, but if you could find another one that would be great, because the other 3 floor mats are excellent. So many of these cars have dash pad issues, this one is Perfect, no cracks, amazing condition. The steering wheel is in nice shape, the SS badge is excellent. All the gauges work, even the Original Tachometer in the Rally Dash. This car also came ordered with buckets and console. Everything works inside, the AC is working , and blows Ice Cold, it has been converted over to 134a, and works great currently. The windows do roll up and down nicely, and the power top works great. Overall the interior is amazing on this car, not much more to right about it, just looks great. Mechanically this Monte Carlo is in great shape. The 305 engine is smooth, does not burn oil, or leak, very clean engine compartment, nothing tampered with under the hood, just like it came from the factory. The transmission shifts very good, nice and smooth. This car runs and drives very good, very smooth out on the road. The brakes seem to work excellent, the car stops on a dime, does not pull. It has its original SS wheels on it, and tires are in good shape, with about 70% tread on them. I haven't went through the car mechanically, everything seems in really good shape, all the fluids are clean, really nothing to really check, just keep it maintained and looking good. The only thing it needs in the future, is the rear tail pipes from the axle back, need to be replaced, they have rusted, and need replaced at some point, the drivers side more them the passenger side, easy to do down the road. This is the type of car if you wanted to fly in and drive it home you could, shipping is always cheaper but if you like adventures, then this would be a fun road trip. I have been selling classic cars here on eBay since 2003, 12 years now, with around 600 classic cars sold over the internet. What I love about these old cars, is that I get to own some of my favorite cars one at a time, I have turned this passion into a business, but for me it is an awesome time to enjoy the cars themselves. It has been such a joy to do business with people all over the world. I have sold multiple cars to many buyers all over from Europe, Dubai, Australia, Japan, Brazil, just to name a few. It has always been a pleasure, getting to know other car enthusiast all over the Continent, especially some that have become very good friends of mine because of our love for cars. I look forward to doing business here on ebay for many years to come, and look forward to meeting some other like minded classic car nuts like myself. If you would like to call me and talk about the car, that would be great, would love to help you out, if you want to call and talk about cars, it would be my pleasure, I am on the hunt for any Interesting classics, odd ball and unique vehicles. Please, come out and personally take a look at it in person, or send a friend or inspector, or transporter, always better if possible to see it with your own eyes, I am close to major airport, and easy to get to. These are classic vehicles, with lots of history, almost years old, so they are used, not perfect, they don’t have warranties, or guarantees, they are as is, where is, nothing else is promised, I can’t possibly explain every little thing about a vehicle in writing, believe me I've tried, lol, seeing in person is always best, I try to give an good description, and normally over 75 photos at least, so you can get a good gauge of what it is, and isn’t.
