They’re only original once! True “barn” find. 1961 Fiat Cabriolet in original condition This original Cabriolet was found in storage in Reno NV last year. Owner was a long time car collector and had this properly stored for over 30 years. He passed away and the family decided to sell. We cleaned the car up and installed 1. New brake wheel cylinders 2. Fuel tank 3. Fuel lines 4. Electrical fuel pump 5. Points 6. Plugs 7. Plug wires 8. Fuel and Oil filters No rust, no dings, no dents and nice gaps. The car now runs and drives. Carb still needs a little work and overall the car should still be considered a bit of a project. I have several vintage Porsche projects and just don’t have time or room for this one. It’s getting passed on to a lucky buyer. Italian cars have recently seen a dramatic increase in value. This little Fiat was designed by the world renowned Pininfarina. (The same Peninfarina that designed the Ferrari’s and Alfa Romeo of the era). Odometer shows just under 68,000 miles and there is no reason to believe these are not original. Dash is clean without cracks, original mirrors, glass, steering wheel and radio. Stock interior, original un-restored seats, vinyl and carpet. Top is shot and will need to be replaced. Gages are in good shape. Aluminum trip is straight, without dings or dents and shines well. Over the last several years Collectors have been searching for Original, unmodified and unrestored cars. This will be the last time you see an original Fiat Cabriolet for a long time. Car is sold as-is, where is. Please look closely at all the pictures. What you see, is what you get with this car. The car runs and drives, stops and shifts. I personally would go through all the systems prior to putting the car back in regular service. There is still TLC and sorting to be done. Do not expect to jump into this car and drive across the country. As stated above I have replaced fuel lines, fuel pump, wheel cylinders, plugs, wires, etc and the engine purrs rather smoothly. Keep in mind this is a 53 year old Italian car. With prices surging on classic cars, this is a great and fun investment. And yes, I'm happy to deal with overseas buyers once payment has cleared.
