THIS IS AUCTION IS FOR A 1968 442 CONVERTIBLE I have owned the car since 2009 and its been in storage almost all the time i have had it. The car was originally from Arizona and we are in Las Vegas , so the car has been in the desert most of its life. The previous owner had put a ton of money into it, the motor was completely rebuilt to .30 over all original parts were used. So yes this is a numbers matching car, The glove box door is the only non original part that I know of. The motor had an intake manifold leak, was taken apart and left that way for 6 years. One day I decided to just get it fixed, so I did, we machined boiled and magna fluxed the original intake manifold. Installed all new gaskets , changed out all the hoses and belts with new ones. New Vacum lines etc. The car started right up and is quiet and smooth. Extremely powerful engine with plenty of pickup and go. The ac was also upgraded with new hoses gas belts etc. The car blows ice cold air conditioning. The power steering , power brakes , lights, suspension, horn , turn signals, work great. The car drives nice and straight when you let go of the steering wheel , the steering wheel is also in the proper position. Wipers work, glass is all good all around, Drivers window has a little plastic guide that broke,it works with a little help. Manual windows all work. The interior is very nice and was probably redone at some time along with the carpet. Very little rust, it was in the desert most of its life, however it does have a little bit, nothing major. The floors and trunk all feel solid.Theres a lot of paperwork that goes along with the car, manual, factory assembly guide, personal records and more. The tires and wheels are all new , Gas tank was replaced with a new one, Dual factory replacement exhaust , car is very quiet and smooth, New Battery , filters , etc. 12 bolt posi rear, 400 factory transmission works well, shifts good. Carburetor is original rochester quadrojet sitting on the stock cast iron manifold, also has the original cast iron exhaust manifolds, and they do not leak. The convertible top works, the switch was swapped out, I guess they couldn't find the original replacement, they are readily available now, however i never got around to it. The top goes up and down ok, There is one little part of the convertible bracket that broke and needs a spot weld, however it works as is and I never got around to it, The top does have a 4 inch slit in it , as shown in the photos. The car is original red with white top and interior. It is also a factory ac car. Hard to find combination back then. The bumpers and chrome have all been redone and look good. There are scratches imperfections in the paint etc. The radio knob broke off and I don't know if the 8 track works.Yes you can drive it away.
