It runs, drives and stops as it should. Originally purchased by an American airline pilot in Genoa, Italy and shipped to the USA. The original bill of sale will be included in the sale. (see photos) The pilot and his family moved to the West Coast, Pebble Beach area where the car spent over fifty-two years under the same ownership. Aside from the front seating surfaces, the car is remarkably original. All hardware is present including high-grade German stainless steel. Comes with original Solex Dual Carbs and Knecht air cleaner. The sumptuous interior features solid oak woodwork and push button electric ignition as well as the original headliner. Doors close with precision and a satisfying thunk! Car has been repainted, but shows no evidence of accidents outside of dings, dents and scratches, as can be expected from a 60 year old unrestored vehicle. Despite paint surface flaws, is stunning in photos and in person. There are two rust areas on the front bonnet. The vehicle runs really well as the fuel pump and carbs were recently restored to a high level. The car was purchased from a fellow car enthusiast who worked on the transmission and dialed-in the car's mechanical systems. • Recently rebuilt fuel pump with OEM diaphragm by Mercedes Ponton specialist. • Two recently rebuilt original SOLEX carbs.
