Vehicle Detail

You're looking at a real clean 1969 P1800S, bought new March 3, 1969 by E. R*** at Schettler Willams Jaguar Volvo in Salt Lake City, where it became a work car for only a few years, and then it was put up on blocks until 1998, when a divorce awarded the car to Mr. R***. It had under 10,000 miles on it at this time, and he drove it for a few years, but lack of maintenance caused the car to fail, and in 2000, it was towed to Al's Volvo service in SLC where it still had just under 20,000 miles on it. As Mr. R*** had no storage, he commissioned the restoration on a "get to it when you feel like it" basis and for the next 13 years it remained in the shop, slowly being worked on, things fixed, changed, and in some cases, improved. Occasionally he's pay the bill up for whatever got done, and in 2013 he drove the car to Portland, Oregon where he had retired to by then. The interior is very clean, dash is uncracked, carpets are original and clean, a few parts have been redyed. This car has receipts for a correct engine rebuild, new exhaust, lots and lots of miscellaneous work including reupholstered front seats now in vinyl but correct with the right straps and so on. It has had one respray and it's a nice paint job that a buff and cut could probably make pop a little bit more. Gaps and fit are pretty good and these cars were never great, but the driver door needs adjustment. Engine compartment is clean and tidy, my Volvo mechanic just adjusted the carbeurators back a little as the motor is just finishing break-in, and said it sounded great(he has owned 2 himself). New fuel cap gasket. Transmission and overdrive work great, syncros are good, clutch is new, the stainless ceramic coated headers really give this car a good note and a little extra pep, it's fun to drive! Do not buy this car if you want to be anonymous, people come up to you, talk to you, someone they know had one just like it, it draws people because it's just such a great looking car from every angle. One way to tell if there has been a lot of bodywork or filler is the steel seams, 4 on the sides and 2 on front and 2 on back, this car has the seams in place, it has never been in a wreck according to the original owner. We will provide the winning bidder with the owners name and number so any questions can be answered by him about the car that may linger. He is to provide a signed letter attesting to the mileage and condition of the vehicle. This car though is being sold "as is where is" FOB Portland, Oregon. The winning bidder has the privilege of arranging and paying for any and all shipping, handling and freight for the vehicle with the auto hauler of their choice.
