Vehicle Detail
Ok fellow Porscheaphiles, here is what could be the deal of a lifetime on a gorgeous Boxster that needs nothing. First the history: I purchased this car a few months ago from an insurance auction in Georgia. It was listed as a salvage/flood title. Upon further investigation I found out exactly what the damage was. It is a common issue with Boxsters. There are four drain holes for rain water to drain out of the cowl and top well areas. If the owner is not diligent these drain holes fill with leaves and dirt. When that happens the water pools under the windshield in the cowl area. It has to go somewhere so it drains down near where the steering column comes through the firewall. On most cars this would just cause your carpet to get wet and water to pool under the seats. Well the Porsche engineers thought it would be a good idea to mount the alarm system, ignition disabler CPU unit under the drivers seat in the lowest part of the floor. Yep, you guessed it. The CPU gets wet and disables the car. Insurance companies usually just total the car when this happens. They don't like water damage. For, me since I am a longtime Porsche tech, the repair is easy. Repair the damaged components on the alarm board and reprogram it. I also removed all the carpets and fully dried out the interior carpet and pad. There is nothing wrong with this car now. Everything works as it should. No smell either as the water did not sit in the car for very long. This makes this car a fantastic buy.The AC blows cold. Engine and transmission operate perfect. No error lights. Car has four matching like new tires. This car has the exclusive FULL LEATHER INTERIOR option that includes full leather seats, leather dash board, and leather door panels. This option alone when new was $2400! The leather seat are near perfect and very very soft. Top looks to be newer and have been replaced recently. The car has normal minor scratches and a ding or two. Nothing major. I took pics of the worst.AS far as paper work goes, here is what you will get.I have a Georgia salvage/rebuildable title signed over to me from the insurance company. I have never registered the car.I can provide a CT Q! form which is all that is required to transfer title in CT . I can also provide the bill of sale from the insurance company and a notarized bill of sale from me to the new buyer.PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE understand this paper work and be sure your state will accept it. Some will , some won't. This is your responsibility. I have sold salvage title cars like this in the past and have had trouble with bidders not understanding this. All sales are final and your misunderstanding is your issue. I am a Porsche guy and I know these cars. They are great and very fun little toys. Here is your chance to steal one at way under retail price.I will help with transportation but the cost is your responsibility. I can have this shipped for you anywhere on the I95 corridor for $750.Any questions please ask. Please be an informed bidder and know what you are buying. On Aug-08-15 at 17:02:11 PDT, seller added the following information: Many have already asked a few questions. Let me answer some here. The car does not leak a drop of anything. The underside is super clean.Yes, power seat5 speed manualseems to have been from a non smoker.no leaks from convertible top.no tears in any leather at allstereo works fine and I do have the codepaint is super shiny, very nice gloss.does not appear to have had any paintwork down. power top goes up and down smoothly . no issuesyes it has the factory wind deflecteryes, you can look at it at my home in Pomfret CTany other questions let me know.On Aug-10-15 at 08:42:49 PDT, seller added the following information: So I have had a lot of questions about the title on this car. Which is good because it gives me a chance to clarify exactly what you will receive.OK, so when a car is listed as a total loss by the insurance company the car is retitled with the Insurance company listed as the owner on a salvage title. The cars are sold at auction which are licensed dealers. On the back of the title the car is transferred to the auction company, then when the car is sold at the auction the car is transferred to the buyer, again this is done on the back of the title. So currently the title is signed over to me as the buyer ( I am not a dealer). In CT a title like this can be transferred via a CT Q1 Assignment of Title form. This together with a bill of sale is all that is required to transfer ownership in my state. Of course to register it you will need to go through a salvage inspection then you will get a rebuilt title in your name. In some states they accept this method of transfer. In some they do not. This is where your responsibility comes in. You need to make sure that your state will accept this. I am not responsible if after buying this car your state will not accept this paper work. All sales are final. There should be no issue with any state's salvage inspection and this car passing it. Everything works as it should. Please make sure you understand this. Thanks Also this car has a Georgia Title.
