What a GREAT find! 1980 Lincoln Mark VI Bill Blass Designer Edition ***** ONLY 17,000 ACTUAL MILES!!! ***** I just bought this BEAUTIFUL MARK from a dealer who bought it from the estate of the original owner. I drove it 50 miles home without issue. I have since taken it to a couple cruise-ins and absolutely enjoyed the ride. This Bill Blass was the more driver and gas pump friendly version of the "Monster Marks". It carries the durable and reliable 351ci.(5.8 ltr) V8. The previous 460c.i. V8's where just ridiculous in fuel mileage. Believe it or not, this big beautiful body is actually somewhat downsized. The previous Marks where so long that they where cumbersome at best to drive. In todays world, you can't even get them in a parking spot. This special Lincoln is more road friendly and is more balanced giving it superior handling to it's predecessors. The fuel mileage was increased greatly with the more efficient motor, but Lincoln added a 4 speed Automatic transmission. That extra gear made the Lincolns drive better at highway speeds. Again, more friendly on today's 70+mph highways. The original owner obviously loved and cared for his Mark. I have all the repair receipts. As you can see in the picture, he spent $1,000 a while back and 2,000 miles ago to maintain and repair her. You'll know it was well kept the moment you close the door and hit the gas. It truly rides and drives superbly. The Paint, Bright Work, Body, Leather, Rugs, Mats, Panels and Dash are all ABSOLUTELY SUPERB AND SHOW QUALITY!! 16 YEARS WITH 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK SELLING SPECIALTY CARS. Look at my feedback. My customers will tell you that I describe the cars fairly. As nice as this Lincoln is, these are the faults as I found them. There is a small ding in the bright molding under the driver's side rear window. Hard to see in the picture. There is no sound from the radio. My guess is a fuse to the amplifier. I did not have time to check it out before the start of the auction, but I will take a look and will post anything I find. But for now, count that on the short list of items to sort out. As you can see in the photo, the headliner is sagging and should be repaired. Interior guys know how to do this job, but I sure don't. I'll leave that up to you too. Normally a $250 job with new material. That's really the only glaring issues with this car. The AIR CONDITION BLOWS COLD. THE WINDOWS, SEATS AND LOCKS ALL WORK. THE CRUISE DOES TOO! Comes with all the books, repair orders, brochure and original spare never down. All in all, it would be hard to find a better car to SHOW, DRIVE OR WATCH APPRECIATE! These American Luxury Cars from the "full size" generation are really appreciating. NOT ALL OF THEM. Just the special low mileage, loaded up, top of the line ORIGINALS, like this rare Coupe.
