Vehicle Detail
You are looking at a 1985 Chevrolet K20 with the Silverado trim package. I purchased this truck from the original owner about 2 years ago. It has a 350ci, 4 barrel motor with 700r4 transmission and NP208 transfer case. 14 bolt semi-float rear differential. 10 bolt front differential. 3.42 gears. Power steering, brakes, A/C, power windows, cruise, power door locks, tilt wheel. The truck has a VERY good condition interior. Seat has no rips. Very rare to find in these trucks. The interior is also the somewhat-rare dark grey color. Truck is currently inspected and registered. PA inspection until 10/15. Body condition; Bed is in good condition, with a large dent on passenger side. Has rust bubbles, but no major rot. Tailgate has rust holes at lower edge, and the passenger side hinge is starting to collapse. Has a bed liner. Needs both rocker panels. Needs both cab corners. Needs lower driver-side door. Front fenders were trimmed by previous owner to clear 35'' tires. Needs inner-front fenders. Basically it has all the typical 73-87 Chevy pickup rust. Under-cab and floor supports seem solid. Frame is solid. Just before I listed the truck a cab light got broken. Included in the auction is a set of new cab lights. Mechanical condition;New in the last year: Steering Box, Steering Pump, Tie rods at Steering Box, All shocks including steering shock, All steel brake lines, Brake master cylinder, Front Brake Calipers, Wheel cylinders, Brake proportioning valve, Both power steering lines. Has a set of 285/75-16 Treadwright Warden tires on 16x8 Black Rock wheels. The tire and wheel combo was roughly $1000 and have been on for less than 1,000 miles. Driver side gas tank is rusted. I will include a replacement with truck. Tank switching valve is bypassed, will include new one with truck. Motor has oil leaks, but runs well. Carburator is "ok". Could use a rebuild or new carburetor installed. Transmission was changed at some point before I owned the truck. It shifts crisp 90% of the time, sometime slips. This is how most 700r4's I've driven in trucks have been. Included with the truck is a TH400 transmission, NP205 transfer case, both driveshafts, crossmembers, and shifters necessary to swap this trans/transfer case into the truck. A/C system is intact, but does not work. I never looked at it, may just need a charge. Some emissions equipment has been removed. No longer has catalytic converter, smog pump, or EGR. Has single 3'' exhaust that dumps in-front of the rear wheels. Interior condition; Very nice, especially for one of these trucks. Headliner sags but isn't torn. Both door panels are nice. Both windows go up and down. I changed the passenger window motor. Dash has some cracks. Seat is not torn or ripped anywhere. Has aftermarket shaft-style radio, dash has not been hacked to install a DIN stereo. Summary; I'm selling this truck because I bought it to be a tow vehicle, and I decided after a year of owning it I would be better off with a 2500 two-wheel drive truck because I had no use for the front-drive axle. I have found a replacement two-wheel drive truck, so it's time to sell this one. I don't need two 3/4 ton Chevy Pickups in my driveway. Good truck for restoration. For a Pennsylvania truck this truck is in very good condition for never having been restored. Rust is still very repairable. Person buying this truck should have a good mechanical background. I would not recommend this to be someones daily-driver or sole method of transportation. It's a 30 year old pickup, things are going to break. Let's be reasonable here, you are not looking at a 2010 pickup. Be familiar with these trucks or classic Chevy's in general before bidding and you will not be dissapointed. I have described this vehicle to the best of my ability to avoid any confusion or any issues with possible bidders. Feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them. At pickup. It's your choice if you want to drive it or trailer it. If you don't live locally, I'd probably trailer it. You are NOT leaving with my license plate attached. If you are a PA resident we ARE going to a notary and having the title transferred before you are taking the truck off my property. I've had issues with this in the past.
