1983 Honda ATC 250R

Up for sale is a very nice 1983 Honda ATC 250R. I purchased the ATC from the original owner and I do have the Certificate of Origin for the ATC (THIS IS AN OFFROAD VEHICLE ONLY....NOT FOR STREET USE). I HAVE BEEN TOLD THE ATC HAS A MUGEN 300 KIT INSTALLED....BUT I HAVE NOT VERIFIED THAT BY TAKING THE HEAD OFF AND CHECKING. The bike starts on the 2nd or 3rd kick when cold and starts right up when it is warm. As you can tell by the pictures it is very nice and what I would consider a survivor. NOW FOR THE DISCLAIMER.....IT IS NOT BRAND NEW AND I AM NOT ADVERTISING IT AS BRAND NEW. IT HAS THE TYPICAL AGING OF THE PAINT AND SCRATCHES AND DINGS AND DENTS OF A 30 YEAR OLD ATC. Now with that out of the way, I would say that it is as nice as you can find without finding one that has been put up when new and never ridden any. From what I can tell, it has a maier front fender and the original rear fender. The rear tires have been replaced and the front tire appears to be the original (I am guessing that because it is a Dunlop). The handlebars have a K & N sticker on it so I am guessing they are aftermarket replacements. The exhaust is stock. The headlight and taillight are missing (probably removed back in the day to keep from getting broken or just to look more like a racebike). The gas tank has a small dent in the front right corner (upper corner close to handle bar clamp). The tank has a few chips in the paint as well. I have had the rear brake caliper rebuilt, because when I bought the atc it was stuck. The rear brakes are still not quite right though and I figure the slave cylinder (above the rear brake lever) needs to be rebuilt as well. The front brakes work but the master cylinder has been leaking sometime in the past because the paint has peeled off on the front master cylinder. I have owned this atc for about 9 months and in that time it has leaked a small amount of fork oil in my garage floor. I have not checked the compression with a gauge, but when you kick it over it seems to have plenty of compression. The seat cover appears to be factory and is in great condition. Overall this atc is in great shape for its age and with a little tlc, will make a very nice daily rider to show off to your buddies!!
