Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is the best, fastest and rarest of the Porsche 944 turbo that has ever been made. It is my 1988 944 Turbo S in Silver Rose original paint. Porsche only produced these for one year. Most believe they killed the project and the 944 Turbo in general because it was better than the 911 turbo of that day. This is one of only 750 Turbo S cars produced which were based upon Turbo Cup version race car. This car only has 65K original miles. I have never seen another with this low mileage. The Silver Rose Edition was notable not only for the special Silver Rose Metalic Paint but for a host of performance upgrades including stiffened chassis, better suspension, beefed up drivetrain and a bigger turbo. The 2.5 liter turbocharge motor produced 247 HP and propelled this vehicle from 0-60 in 5.5 seconds. It has the silver rose exterior paint color scheme and burgundy leather interior. It is in excellent condition and there is nothing deficient in it or any issues. All the things work as they should including the AC. I have ALL the records from the services performed (35+ Pages), even from the previous owners, records back to when the car was new including the dealer stamped warranty book. This car was dealer serviced for a good portion of its life. Most recently it has a cam tower oil leak that was minor and was fixed. The timing belt was last done in 2011 and only about 2-3K miles ago. This car has always been garaged and was never raced and has always been adult owned. Everything is stock except for wheel spacers and a short shift kit. The paint is in great shape except for the minor fine scratch here and there. The interior is also in great condition considering the age. The leather on the driver side seat is showing some wear...to be expected. As someone correctly noted in the last auction the ugly plaid interior was replaced by a previous owner. The leather looks a lot nicer. Please have a look at the photos and you will see for yourself...Feel free to send me any questions that you may have about the car. I am a doctor and not a car dealer or scammer. Feel free to email me and we can talk on the phone if you'd like. I am certainly willing and able to help with shipping and meet a transporter if needed. Title In Hand Car is also being advertised locally and I reserve the right to pull the auction at any time if the car is sold locally. This vehicle is being sold as is without any warranty. 65K Miles documented and clean carfax miles. I have a copy of the carfax if you'd like to see it. Options: 454 -- Automatic Speed Control 593 -- Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) 650 -- Electric Sunroof 685 -- Divided rear seat 758 -- Special model 944 Turbo 1988 (Turbo S Model) 990 -- All Cloth Seats Color: LM3Z Silver Rose Metallic (Silberrosa) More on the turbo S: The 944 Turbo S had a more powerful engine (designation number M44/52) with 247 hp (184 kW) and 258 lb·ft (350 N·m) torque (standard 944 Turbo 217 hp (162 kW) and 243 lb·ft (329 N·m)). This higher output was achieved by using a larger K26-8 turbine housing and revised engine mapping which allowed maintaining maximum boost until 5800 rpm, compared to the standard 944 Turbo the boost would decrease from 1.75 bar (175 kPa; 25.4 psi) at 3000 rpm to 1.52 bar (152 kPa; 22.0 psi) at 5800 rpm. Car and Driver tested the 944 Turbo S (with the advantage of shorter final drive gear) and achieved a 0-60 mph (97 km/h) time of 5.5 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 13.9 seconds at 101 mph (163 km/h). Top speed was factory rated at 162 mph (261 km/h). The 944 Turbo S's suspension had the "M030" option consisting of Koni adjustable shocks front and rear, with ride height adjusting threaded collars on the front struts, progressive rate springs, larger hollow rear anti-roll/torsion bars, harder durometer suspension bushings, larger 26.8 mm (1.055 in) hollow anti-roll/torsion bars at the front, and chassis stiffening brackets in the front frame rails. The air conditioning dryer lines are routed so as to clear the front frame brace on the driver's side. The manual transmission (case code designation: AOR) featured a higher friction clutch disc setup, an external cooler, and a limited slip differential with a 40% lockup setting. The Turbo S front brakes were borrowed from the Porsche 928 S4, with larger Brembo GT 4-piston fixed calipers and 12-inch discs; rear Brembo brakes remained the same as a standard Turbo. ABS also came standard. The 944 Turbo S interior featured power seats for both driver and passenger with a 10-speaker sound system.
