2002 VW NEW BEETLE RARE TURBO "S"Since listing the car and reviewing the listing itself, I see that there were two minor front end accidents before we bought the car. It was not been a factor while my daughter drove the car for 30,000 (+-) miles. I have had many cars in my 56 years and this one is one of the best built and equipped. The car includes many great features and some special Turbo S extras. (A 6 speed manual was the only transmission available with this package.) Ice cold A/C, side airbags, power locks, power windows, power mirrors, power steering, power brakes, 4 position power moon-roof, front fog lights, two tone leather, (gray and black) heated seats, keyless remote entry (2 plus one valet key), cruise control, outside temperature indicator & clock above rearview mirror, remote hatch-back and fuel filler door switches, stainless-steel foot-pedal cladding, and aluminum trim touches inside. The eight-speaker Monsoon sound system is one of the best I have ever heard in a factory car. The FM radio has exceptional reception. There is an in-dash cassette player (My iPod adapter is included.) and a six-disc CD changer. Another cool feature is the deployable spoiler, which is located just above the rear window. This pops up at 40-mph. The 7.0”-by-17” inch alloy wheels are unique to the Turbo S package. The tires are new. The clutch plates and the master/slave hydraulic clutch cylinders are only a few months old. The $100 shop manual and a $60 OBD, (On Board Diagnostic tool for reading check engine codes.) for VWs are included with the car. I service the vehicle and have kept records of all work performed/parts installed by myself and our local favorite, European Auto Garage. The car runs and sounds great, it has no rust and the engine is super clean. The engine does not smoke or burn any oil. The engine does not leek and has no blow by. The paint has been waxed often and shines like new. I just serviced it with new Mobile 1 synthetic oil and filter. We have owned the car about 6 years, (non-smokers). Our daughter has driven it to high school and college, (about 33,000 miles). It has 165,434 miles on it now. (Our daughter recently purchased her own car and my wife and I don’t need 4 vehicles.) The negatives: The moon-roof had a leak about two years ago and the inside roof fabric has some minor staining on the passenger side. (The gasket was siliconed and it no longer leaks.) The glove box latch broke so I made a small ‘T’ handle to keep it closed. The glove box door has some of the finish scuffed off. (See photos). One of the air vents in the dash has had the lever broken so it is not easily adjusted. The exterior paint has some dings, chips and small scratches from rocks and everyday use. These areas in the paint have been touched up so they are not as noticeable. The touch up paint does not match exactly. The windshield has 1 small chip in it. Please look closely at the pictures I have provided. I have tried to list all the negatives one might have as a buyer. I will be glad to answer any questions anyone has.
