I purchased this 2007 Grand Cherokee SRT8 on EBay last year it was located in South Carolina. I flew down and completed the deal. I drove it 700 miles and four miles from home the check engine light came on. I had it checked out at a garage and was told it had a couple of broken piston land rings. I called the seller and got no help. By the time I got it to a hemi expert to see what the problem was EBay was no help. Well I took it to BFNY in Cleveland and had the motor rebuilt with forged pistons, cam and tuner. The reason the motor went bad was that there was a tune in the vehicle and no programmer with the vehicle. After the motor was done I received a call and was asked what you want to do with the transmission. Are you kidding me? From having a super charger and no transmission upgrade the transmission was in need of an upgrade. So the transmission was built to handle the big HP at a cost of $5000. So the bottom line is I spent $12,000 to make this what it should be. When I purchased this vehicle it had a lowering kit which I did not like the ride so I got new springs from the dealer and installed them. The lowering springs will go with the vehicle. Also it has nav and a dvd player. With the new tune it passes New York state vehicle inspection with no problem. I have driven it for 1000 miles and it is what it should be. This SRT8 is all done and is extremely fast. The reason I am selling is that I have ten vehicles and five motor cycles and at this point in life I have to start downsizing. New motor, transmission, DIABLO Sport Trinity programmer with right tune loaded in the vehicle. Check out BFNY on facebook They are the best at what they do.
