Vehicle Detail
1967 military jeep M715 gladiator, cab on restoration,19000 original miles. This vehicle was restored by me never intending to sell her but medical bills have forced me to let her go.This is a parade ready M715 ,98% original.(some small non original parts were used only when necessary )Frame was sandblasted and painted with two part epoxy (gloss black) wheels, bearings and brakes were all gone through and repaired or replaced . All body parts were removed and taken down to bare metal and painted with two part epoxy olive drap paint .Due to the low mileage and good condition the engine was not rebuilt. She starts easily and runs strong.the truck has been driven regularly and I have put over 1000 miles on it since completing the restoration.I am including a matching M101 trailer in the auction.however if the auction winner neither wants or needs the trailer I will deduct $450.00 from the winning bid and sell the trailer separately. The trailer has not been restored but is rust free and good working order. The vintage of the trailer matches that of the truck. The only non working item on the truck is the fuel gauge and a NOS fuel sending unit is included .(I haven't taken the time to drop the tank and install it)Ther are some small rust holes on the cab floor behind the seats ,I have included pictures of them in the photos. All pioneering tools go with the truck . A correct military fire extinguisher mounted in the correct and authentic extinguisher bracket are also included.Below is a list of some of the new parts this truck has: Rebuilt carburetor Rebuilt fuel/vacuum pumpNew water pumpNew brakes (drums turned)Radiator recored New pointsNew plugsPlug wires are civilian but original ignition is used (I never got around to buying the waterproof plug wires)New brake master cylinderNew flexible brake linesNew seat coversNew top from surplus city jeep partsNew batteries Six new u-jointsNew hosesNew beltsNew superlug tiresNew turn signals and solid state turn signal switch and flasher The truck also comes with the following spare parts:Transmission Transfer case StarterExhaust manifoldSpare ignitionVarious gaskets and sealsNOS fuel sending unit The truck has been stored indoors since the restoration and will remain indoors till picked up by the new owner.A $500.00 deposit is to be paid via PayPal within 72 hours of the close of auction . The balance to be paid when the truck is picked up.A notarized bill of sale will come with the truck. Alabama doesn't issue titles to vehicles of this vintage but a title can be secured with a bill of sale through a title service.( they charge a fee of around $100.00 or so I understand.this will be the responsibility of the new owner) On Aug-01-15 at 07:07:17 PDT, seller added the following information: A modification I forgot to add To the original description is the drive shaft has been moved from the original transfer case out put yoke to the e-brake output location.this mod does not affect performance in any way as the ratio between these yokes is 1:1 .it does eliminate the transfer case whine that these trucks are famous for.The modification required the installation of a custom yoke (cost me about $200) and just moving the drive shaft over to the center. The E-brake functions normally and the truck can be returned to original in ten minutes however it really quiets down the transfer case and makes it more enjoyable to drive. No permanent changes were made to the drive shaft length or anything else.As I said in my original listing I had no intention of selling this truck and I invested in this modification to make it more enjoyable for longer trips.I tried to post a photo of this modification but the website will not allow me to change any photos since I have already received a bid.Anyone that would like to see photos of this modification just message me and I can send you photos.
