As period Cadillac convertible values climb with the speed of an Atlas rocket, any top-notch hardtop or convertible DeVille looks all the more appealing today."Mechanical: the Caddy has always had regular maintenance have been performed on schedule. I bought the Caddy from Kentucky. I was told the 79k on the odometer is original, my mechanic thinks it is genuine as well. The engine was rebuilt in the mid 90's, under 10k on motor. Recent work includes extensive front end work, brake system completely gone through (including upgrading to dual chamber master cylinder), new radiator and water pump, rebuilt carburetor, dual exhaust, full tuneup and new belts and hoses. The power windows work perfectly, all the motors were replaced. The lights work, the heater works, the radio works when you turn in on and off a few times, the power antenna works and the power seat works but the switch needs replacing, new switch included. Clock does not work, gas gauge can be finicky, "trumpet" horn works. The a/c compressor is connected and will turn on but does not blow cold and the cruise control is not working. No leaks from anywhere, garage floor always dry when I pull her out.Cosmetic: The previous owner was going for a kustom look so the Caddy wears flat black paint. It looks great with the "smoothie" hubcaps and low profile tires. I have the original Cadillac wheels, hubcaps and decent tires, can replace upon request. The interior is the nicest part of this car; headliner, door panels, carpet and seats were re-upholstered, all matched to factory color and style. All materials are new and soft to the touch and the seats are comfortable with new springs and padding. The chrome is original and in ok condition where not painted over. The front bumper ends were repaired but will need redoing or replacing, I was planning to remove them. The passenger front fender behind the wheel has some old bodywork that will need attention as well as some other areas. The floors, frame and trunk are solid, no patches anywhere as you see in the photo and the inner fenders are original and solid as well. Overall she's very straight as you can see in the pix, all the door close easily as well as the trunk and hood.The Caddy starts right up even after sitting and the engine has a nice rumble through the dual exhaust. Runs very strong, the 428 V8 is nice and powerful and the car brakes evenly, no pulling or fading. She idles evenly, temperature needle never varies, shifts smoothly, tracks straight and stops easily. Drive the Caddy as is or bring her back to stock, nothing has been altered to prevent restoration. A very dependable, cool old cruiser that's fun to take to car shows and can be used as a daily driver.I reserve the right to end the auction early as the Caddy is for sale locally and I'm open to reasonable buy it now offers as well.
