Vehicle Detail

When I bought this truck, it was not my intention to be selling it now. However, I over extended myself this past winter and purchased two more trucks that need work, so now, reluctantly, I have to let this one go as 4 is too many. I have 3 at my house at this time and my normal summer driver is still in storage from the winter as I don’t have space for it. Obviously my wife is not pleased with all this metal around here. Really, what’s an old guy like myself doing with 4 trucks right? The truck was not as advertised when I received it at my door from shipment from California (original black plate California truck), so I had to spend an entire winter going over it. This truck was checked entirely front to back. This truck was for my son to drive, so I made sure to do all the work properly and fix anything that had a hint of needing repair, which unfortunately, meant almost everything mechanical. Now someone will get to enjoy it right off the bat without any worries so that makes me happy. The truck needs nothing. The truck has 3000 miles on it since all the work was done. Here’s the work I did: Reconditioned 235 engine Rebuilt starter, generator New voltage and horn relay New battery Pertronix electronic ignition system (no foot pedal start) Professionally rebuilt carburetor New fuel line, tank to fuel pump New fuel pump. New motor mounts. Resurfaced flywheel. New clutch assembly Rebuilt S-10 5 speed transmission (10 spline input shaft) 3:90 third unit has new axle bearings and seals including pinion seal New brake drums, wheel cylinders, brake shoes and master cylinder New hard and soft brake lines New front wheel roller bearings The manual steering and suspension is in excellent condition New shocks New wiring harness and new wiring throughout New signal light mechanism New LED taillights. Deluxe interior, seat and paint period correct. Seat was redone recently by PO. New weather stripping around doors, rubber bumper set, door latches, window regulators, interior door and window handles Door glass was replaced where necessary Small crack on lower right of windshield near door (see picture) Dash is in excellent uncut condition All instruments working properly, new gas tank sending unit New headlight switch Dash and dome lights working Key starter New floor and firewall sound deadener New firewall cover New floor mat and jute underpad New glove box. New clutch and brake pedal pads Three speed heater works properly Speedometer has been rebuilt and indicates correct speed New headliner and retainer rubber Original vacumn wipers working The paint, Cardinal red GM code 714A appears to be original, it shows the effect of the elements after spending all but the last two years in the Palm Springs area of California. The truck was manufactured in Los Angeles, I understand it worked as a Parts Chaser truck. You can still see a bit of the business sign on the door for the Village Appliance Co. of Palm Springs that the truck worked for. The left fleetside and cab corner were damaged prior to my owning the truck, repairs were completed by myself and paint done professionally. The tailgate was also painted professionally. The sheet metal of this truck is free of any holes. Floors and steps like new. As stated before the paint is original, you can however see where repairs and adjustments were made throughout the years. Purchased original bumpers that were in good shape, reconditioned them and had them painted professionally. There was a diamond plate heavy duty type bumper on the back when I got it but it now has the proper original fleetside rear bumper. The bed has been rebuilt with new wood. New bed strips were painted with Por15 and a topcoat and routed into the wood as originally done. I am obsessive when it comes to these old trucks and have spent countless hours getting all the rattles and creaks out of the cab when driving. This truck is being offered for sale solely for the reason of creating storage space. It goes down the highway on it’s Candy Classics G78-15 Wide Whites as it did when new, the only difference is that created by the 5th 0.75 overdrive gear. The description of this truck given here is to the best of my ability an accurate one, any questions will be answered honestly by me at 613 225-6382 The truck is sold as is, where is, with no warranty or guarantee implied. The truck is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to end this auction at any time.Short box fleetsides are pretty rare, and are often beat up, especially the box sides. Even more rare when its sporting its original paint with the real patina that this one has. I have other trucks of the same era but none get the looks and attention that this one does. Has easily done 200km trips each way and would not hesitate to take it anywhere.
