Vehicle Detail

WOW! 1981 Honda CBX with only 1,157 original miles. Has been in inside storage for many years. Overall the bike is in unbelievable condition. This is not a restored bike! It is a time capsule. Currently not running, will need a new battery and the carbs gone through. The bike is located in Anaheim California. I have a clear Oregon Title. This bike has a very interesting history with documentation to prove. First it was registered to "Special Projects Division of American Honda Motor Corp" it was then given to Walt Fulton, who then passed it on to Wes Cooley Sr, whom it is currently titled to. Google both of those names if you don't know who they are. Comes with the original tool kit that I don't think was ever used. It also has the original owners manual. There is some damage to the right side of the fairing from the front brake master cylinder leaking fluid on it, a common issue with this model. The master cylinder was rebuilt and no longer leaks. Overall the bike is stunning and will continue to go up in value. No rust in the gas tank, in fact no rust anywhere. The bike has never been wrecked before. A real head turner. Sold as is and buyer to arrange shipping. I will help if at all possible. $500.00 deposit due within 48 hours. Good Luck!!On Jul-19-15 at 13:30:05 PDT, seller added the following information: To clear up any confusion: In 1979 the CBX came with an 150 M.P.H. speedo. Then due to a government mandate, the speedo had to be changed to 85 M.P.H. this was also known as the "Jimmy Carter" speedo. As mentioned above, this CBX came out of the "Special Projects Division" of American Honda, thus was not required to abide by the government mandate. This bike came from the Factory with the 150 M.P.H. speedo. It also came with the fork brace you see in the pictures. The bike was a gift to Walt Fulton, who was not only a top American racer, he also played a huge part in getting Honda established here in America. Notice the low production number (20). This bike has a very unique history and it is as presented to Walt Fulton.
