Vehicle Detail

1950 Buick. Maroon color, almost new wide whites all around. Wide white spare in trunk may have never been on the ground. New water pump, all new water hoses throughout, new brake cylinders and lines, heavy duty NAPA 6V battery and nice trunk area. The interior is in nice condition and may be original (not sure). The rear seat is worn on the ends because of leaky roll-out rear vent window seals as you can see in photos. nice solid back floor. Front driver's floor shows a small space of rust through and has been patched over. Nice factory black rubber mat in front with factory wool carpet in rear. All windows roll up and down like they are supposed to, all vents windows work, all glass in nice condition with no cracks and the wipers even work. Motor is the stock 263 factory motor and the top side has been nicely detailed (see photos). Manifold and downpipe gaskets have been replaced and the motor runs quiet. The transmission seems to do what it is supposed to do. It is a Dynaflow and so the transmission does not really change gears. The motor has a rebuilt starter and band new factory solenoid. You start the car by turning on the ignition and pressing the gas pedal. Great oil pressure and nice exhaust note. Car runs and drives but I have not been driving it. It needs to be with someone who can tinker with it and enjoy it and I don't have the time. She needs a good "blowing out" because the carburetor "coughs" sometimes and may need "tweaking" a little. Just trying to disclose as much as I know about the car. There is a little "shimmy" when you drive it so the tires may need balancing. Door panels are nice, instrument panel is nice and shiney, headlights, parking lights, turn signals glove box, overhead interior lights, under seat heater all work. Not sure if the gas gauge works. It is registering full, but the car has a full tank of gas anyway. Headliner is in great condition. It appears that the reverse lights do not work and the instrument panel lights appear not to be working .May just need a fuse. The body looks good, but there have been some repairs done. Previous owner apparently replaced rockers on both sides. There has been some work done on the left rear quarter panel. The hood closes and locks, but the hinges need adjusting on both sides in order for it to work properly. I am including a complete set of used hood hinges with the car. These hoods are heavy, and they open from either side. I always use an extra prop when I open it. The main body area that needs to be addressed by the new owner are the "c" pillars at the back of each rear door. Previous owner obviously did some cutting, but did not complete that repair job and I haven't touched it.. This is a pretty good Buick with a "weak" paint job. It's a 1950. Everybody knows that this is one of the most desirable body styles. It is the ONLY Buick with the grill going "into" the bumper. It's not a perfect car. The photos really look better than the car does to me but it was a nice, sunny day outside. Car is being sold in "as is" condition and you will be given a simple "Bill of Sale". There is a folder of paperwork that came with the car and it will be passed on to you. You really have to love these old cars and enjoy tinkering with them to appreciate them. It sits outside and there does not appear to be any water leakage in the trunk area at all. I would suggest that the new owner replace the window seals, give it a good tune-up, repair those "c" pillars and drive it. I may have mistakenly left something out, so please feel free to ask questions. Buyer pays all shipping.
