I bought this 1947 Chevy 1/2 ton pick up truck from the son of the previous owner who had passed away this last year. The son tried to get it running but had no car knowledge .( turned out The truck had a dirty fuel tank, and the carb was not getting any gas ) The father used this truck as a daily driver but when he got sick, it sat for over a year. I got it home and we did points and condensor. We rebuilt the master cylinder for the brakes. As the video shows, the truck cranks up on the first try, it drives down the road at 55mph and it handled the way a 46-47 truck should. This truck is a late model 1946 titled in 1947 with matching numbers to the vin tag. As the vin tag shows, it was the 29th truck titled in 1947. vin is 21dpl-10029. It has a fresh and current registration. This truck comes with the clean title ready for you to register. The body on this truck is very clean and was re painted in my opinion over 20 years ago. The body does not show any major rust issues I can see. I took pics of the cab corners, rust free, floor pans, and cab rockers and kick panels and floor (all look very clean) doors and fenders and running boards are pictured. the seat springs just have a cover over them and should be re upholstered. This is truly solid running survivor that will need some tweaking but you can definitely drive it and have fun with it the way it is while taking it to the next level. All of the glass looks good with no cracks and the windshield still cranks out with ease. Make note of the heater and headliner in the truck. The windows all go up and down and the doors shut the way they should. the tires should be replaced as they are showing weathered. The truck shifts and stops the way it should. It is run off a 12 volt battery and coil and the 6 volt wire harness has been bypassed. it should have a new wire harness (6 volt or 12 volt) installed due to its age (jim carter trucks $205) If you elect to go to a 6 volt, you would change the battery back to a 6 volt and change the coil to 6 volt. I am running off a aux tank and the original gas tank should be cleaned out before using or replace it(jim carter trucks has them for around $150) The toppers and license plates do not go with the truck. I am setting the reserve well below what the truck should bring to ensure a sale, only bid if you are serious about buying this truck! To complete this truck as a drive anywhere truck and not just a tinkering around here and there truck, in my opinion I would replace the wire harness, hook up the lights and guages etc., and clean out the gas tank. Everyones opinion of what a daily driver survivor 68-69 year old truck should is different, I would recommend that you come and inspect the truck or hire ebay to do a independant inspection before placing a bid.
