1977 Mercedes Benz 450 SL Roadster / Coupe. This is an excellent, original, Mercedes Benz Roadster. It has the original V8 engine and automatic transmission. It runs and drives very well, and can be driven anywhere with confidence. It has 101,750 original miles and is very complete. It has both tops and all of the attaching mechanisms for the top work properly. I have the original Utah title in my name. It is a rust free convertible in almost show condition. I will list in detail the positive and negative issues with the Mercedes 450 SL. Roadster: Positive: 1. It is a 38 year old car, but it has been well taken car of. It has a car cover and has been garaged most of its life. 2. It has only 101,750 miles in 38 years. The average is 310 miles per year. 3. The car is in good driving condition. It runs well, starts easily, shifts smoothly, and stops properly. You can drive the Mercedes anywhere with confidence. 4. All of the options and equipment work properly. It blows cold air from the air-conditioner, the lights, horn, radio, the original tools and books are in the glovebox, and everything works properly. 4. The body is in excellent condition. the doors, truck lid, and hood all open and close smoothly and align properly. 5. It is very clean and is in good driving condition. Again, please look closely at all of the photos. Negative: Before I nit-pick the problems, I want to restate, this is a good, solid car, but like all 38 year old cars, it has some minor problems.1. The convertible top's plastic window is no good and there is a tear in the fabric on the driver's side by the rear window. 2. Several years ago, the car was repainted in the original white color. All of the trim pieces, including the hubcaps have gold trim and are in excellent condition. 3. There is a small tear in the driver's front seat. I took a picture of the problem, but it is difficult to see because in it small. 4. Along the rear trunk lid, close to the trim, there are some small bubbles in the paint. These bubbles are smaller than a dime and, again, are difficult to see in the photos. They are not serious and are on the surface. They are the only flaw on the car's exterior. The floor pan is dry, has no rust or dents, and is in good shape. 5. The passenger's side sun visor doesn't stay attached to the windshield bracket. The part to correct this are available on Ebay. Having listed all of the problems I have found, I want to repeat, the car is in excellent condition and can be driven anywhere with confidence. It has good tires, good brakes, all the lights work, and it runs good. I need to sell the Mercedes and the reserve reflects my desire to sell the car - not the quality of the Mercedes.
