Greetings! and thank you for taking the time to view this auction. Offered here for your consideration is this 1978 Ford Thunderbird with 20,712 actual miles. This car is fully documented, and has been preserved and maintained as a prized family possession since it was brought home in 1979 It has spent its entire life garaged in rural farmlands of central Minnesota. This car has never seen an urban street, traffic jam, or city pothole. It is 100% ready to drive and enjoy, with the air conditioning blowing ice cold, and anything on the car that could be affected by age or sitting dormant has been replaced or repaired during its ownership. You will not have to worry about any of the deterioration issues that are usually present in ultra low mile classic cars. I am going to spare you from the huckster gibberish that you usually have to read through in these auctions about the car being rare, "original once" , "one time opportunity" blah, blah, blah. I am going to stick to the facts, let the photos do the talking, and leave the opinions up to you . . This car was originally purchased in July of 1979 from Mies Ford In Watkins MN. It was a salesman's demo car and had approximately 3,800 miles at that time. It was bought by a gentleman from Litchfield MN as incentive for his then 43 year old wife to finally get her drivers license. According to their son, the car never traveled more than 5 miles from the residence for the first years that they owned it while his mother was getting acquainted with driving an automobile for the first time in her life. From the early 80s until 2009, the car was driven sporadically over the years. Records show that it was brought into the dealership for check ups and maintenance, whenever it was going to be used during the summer, or for the daily driver for an extended period of time. In 2009 the car was relocated to Buffalo Mn to be stored in the son's garage, due to the parents' new boat purchase and concerns that the car could be damaged in close confines with other vehicles in their garage. From that point, the car served as a hobby project for the son. He took the time to address anything that he felt was a demerit to the car, and made a point to drive it at least 50-60 miles a year. On June 1st of this year, the son made the tough decision to finally part with this car, and donated it to the Vietnam Veterans of America charity organization. Being a fan of unique Ford cars, and owning a Lincoln Mark V of the same year, I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to help find this car an owner that will continue the care and appreciation that it has received since new. In the spirit of what eBay was intended to be, I have listed this car as an absolute auction, without a reserve. If you to bid on this car with the intention to own it, please take a moment to look over the completed listings of Thunderbird's from the same era, the miles, documentation, history, if they sold, and allow that information to factor into your valuation of this car.
