You are bidding on this 1940 Pontiac two door convertible with in line 8 cylinder 100hp engine.The wheelbase is 120 inches and it has a 3 speed column shift transmission. This is a very rare prewar open Pontiac.Internet search showed only 1,353 ever built and an estimated 12 known to exist. It is a solid California car with a California title. The body and floors are in solid condition. Car repainted in the 70's or 80's and does show age with some chips and staining. I would describe this car as an older restoration or survivor type of car, showing its 75 year age. Much work has been done years ago including chrome, mechanical, vinyl interior, new electrical harness, new complete exhaust. Recent work done is new windshield vacuum pump, re-sleeved master cylinder, correct nos Carter carbuter, Tires are older , nos hubcaps and brand new repro set aluminum door sill plates. One year old 6v battery . I have not driven this car over the road but it does yard drive and stop. Cowl tag reads style 40-2867 , body number 901 , trim number 107 , paint number 282 .
