Vehicle Detail

Unfortunately it is time to part with the S10 since my demands for a truck require a full size. I spent months, yes, months, daily, searching for a '94-'97 S10 back in 2011 that was a regular cab, short bed with a 4 cylinder/auto since I needed to something commute with in traffic when I lived in Southern California. I doubt there are many S10s of this era with the options and equipment this particular truck has.  I have spent thousands in custom and some high performance parts in this truck to help with MPG, handling, light towing and free up a little power from the little 2.2. Under the right conditions I have actually gotten a little over 30 highway MPG with this truck. This truck has zero fluid leaks (which is one of the reasons why I hate to get rid of it) no service engine soon light on and all options work. It spent most of it's life in a dry region of Southern California, making it a rust free truck. Recently, I have replaced these stock parts: Battery (Duralast Gold). Fuel Filter. Fuel Pressure Regulator. Heater Core with a GM Delphi replacement (Not, an easy job!) Blower motor, blower motor resistor, blower motor relay. Both front brake calipers, hoses and pads with ceramics.  Catalytic Converter.  Spark Plugs. And some other parts I can't remember.  When I purchased the truck, it was stock, since then I have lowered the front of the truck with 2" drop spindles,2" Ground Force drop coils,(for a total of 4" of drop) along with Summit brand drop shocks and ZQ8 bump stops. I also installed a Blazer 33mm front sway bar to help with handling.  The rear consists of 4" blocks, bump stops and brackets removed for more travel, working Hi-Jacker air shocks,(valve behind flip down license plate bracket I added) ZQ8 sway bar and brackets.  It doesn't ride as soft as a Cadillac,it wasn't meant to, it however rides better than most trucks I've ridden in with this much static drop, not too bouncy or stiff, very little if any body roll in turns. The truck rolls on all aluminum 15x7 American Racing Torq Thrusts wrapped in 225/60/15 Falkens up front and 15x10s wrapped in nice & wide 295/50/15 Hankooks in the rear. The rear center caps were machined flat to enhance the staggered look. I have about $1,500 invested just in the wheels and tires.  To fit those 295s out back, some clearancing was required on the inside of the wheel well lips of the bed to ensure there would be no rubbing issues even with a load in the bed. Besides debadging, removing trim and shaving & relocating the antenna to hide it, the body is stock. It has a factory rear roll pan with the correct class lll Draw Tite hitch under it meant for that particular application. The grille and bumper have been chrome plated. The front license plate holder will be included in the sale. The interior is in very good shape considering it's age with no pet or cigarette odors and is stock with the exception of the Auto Meter trans temp gauge and Dual AM/FM CD player with AUX/USB port I've added. Since I'm on the subject of interior, I should mention the factory tachometer for this era of S10 with an automatic is very rare, cruise control wasn't very common as well from what I've gathered. Under the glove box area, you will find the ECM which has the  "Fastchip" attached to it which increases the transmission line pressure for better shifts, raises the top speed limiter from 92 MPH to 128 MPH and some other performance features I don't remember. All glass has been tinted with "lifetime" film. Now for the drivetrain. The engine breathes through an unrestricted air intake & open filter feeding into the throttle body has been bored and polished to 53.5mm from the stock 52mm.  I've also added Comp Cams 1.6 roller tip rocker arms with clearanced stock guide plates. That's it for internal mods. The stock crank pulley was replaced with  ASP underdrive pulley along with a new serpentine belt.  Stock plug wires were replaced with Taylor Thundervolt 8.2mm wires. The engine exhales through a stainless OBX header and 2-1/4" downpipe and is muffled by a Magnaflow resonator. The notoriously noisy, power robbing, stock clutch fan was upgraded to a Taurus 2 speed Efan controlled by a TorqFlo, relayed, fan controlling thermostat wired to the fan's low side which is typically enough to keep the little 2.2 cool. I've replaced the stock engine thermostat with a cooler 180 degree one which works best with the fan controller. Truck has CARB stickers for air intake and header on radiator support pad required to pass California's smog "visual". The transmission (4L60E) shifts nicely, with the increased line pressure from the "Fastchip", Corvette Servo, and is cooled by a B&M aux. cooler mounted behind the grille and a finned pan with drain plug. I was going to replace the stock boost valve as well but feel that the transmission shifts crisp enough as is. According to the Auto Meter temp gauge, it likes to run around 180 degrees under normal driving conditions and cooler on long highway drives when the converter stays locked for long periods of times. The 7.5" rear end is stock with the exception of the Trick Flow cover which helps keep extra pressure on bearing caps, increases oil capacity and helps the fluid stay cooler besides just looking "cool" and making servicing easier. Please keep in mind, even though this truck has been well taken care of, it is 20 years old and is not perfect. This truck is sold as is, with no warranty expressed, written, or implied. I have tried my best to describe the truck. Please feel free to message me with questions. International buyers welcome!
