For your consideration , 2nd. owner 1978 BMW R 100 S (built Nov. /1977) with TRIPLE matching numbers!!! Previous owner planned for long term storage and dealer prepped for such.(Tank emptied,oiled and float bowls off, cylinders oiled,etc.) Revived for use about 2000 miles (2 years ago) @ BMW Motorcycles of Ventura,Ca.,Complete clutch service performed using genuine factory parts.(including pressure plate and disc,seals,shafts and more). Over $1100 spent. (I have receipt .) and then ~~ All fluids flushed three times . New brake pads (front and rear),front brake lines replaced with braided steel lines. 40 m.m. Carburetors completely rebuilt including new diagrams and floats. Complete front fork assembly sent to the premier BMW restoration dealer, "Re-Psycle" in Ohio, and serviced to as new condition.. . (Yes this IS a California bike and I spent lots on shipping alone.) Tank has NO rust (locking cap) and has original factory finish inside and out. Petcocks were rebuilt and interior tank fuel filters installed. This original non-molested motorcycle is a real head turner.(Upgraded parts will have the original part included with sale.) Look at the spares~picture !!! It has the very rare Berlin Talbot mirrors installed on the stock BMW fairing.They are period correct but they may be removed and the stock mirrors installed (included) should you choose. Works performance adjustable shocks were installed on the rear.(Stock shocks will be included with sale.) New sealed battery installed and top of the line Avon Road Master tires fitted. Motorcycle has optional factory rear rack,crash bars and detachable Krauser hard bags (with keys.) Owners manual,factory tool kit and tire pump (with rubber cap) included. Billet handlebar risers with set backs are installed. (stock mounts are included.) Any vintage stored BMW AIRHEAD would pretty much need the mechanical work that was performed on this motorcycle. Not because of use , but because of lack of use. All service and "new" items approximately 2000 miles of use. Documented with receipt. All drive train fluids just changed. Cons ~Front rim has some blemish on finish (brake fluid?) , voltmeter is not hooked up,trip meter works when it wants to, This is independent of odometer which works proper.. Mileage is correct.This bike is mechanically sound and is in cosmetic un-restored condition. Expect some scratches and chips on paint.See pictures.
