Vehicle Detail
*please do not bid if you are unable to pay for the vehicle or if you plan on changing your mind. please do not waste my time or your time* *please do not ask me for a price for the vehicle. I will not end the auction early.* Up for sale is my 1991 BMW 318iS. I’ve owned this vehicle for over two years and have worked on it slowly, but unfortunately I no longer have the time or the means to finish the vehicle. My loss is your gain. When I bought the vehicle, it was in relatively good condition. The paint was a bit dull and it needed a detail. There were a few mechanical niggles that needed sorting as well. I polished the paint, bringing the original shine back, I cleaned up some of the interior’s stains, and sorted the mechanicals with new parts. I replaced some parts with new ones, water pump, the clutch slave cylinder, the alternator, the fuel pump, all of the belts, the thermostat, and the coolant. I also replaced the springs with H&R Sport springs with KYB shocks. The rear shocks were not installed yet, stock shocks are still on the vehicle; they will come in the trunk. MHW OZ wheels in silver, rubber coated in gold, new Kumho tires. I drove it for bit before having to park it again due to bearing noise. The car has been sitting since. The vehicle needs to be finished to be a reliable driver. Starting from the rear, it needs a new hub, for it is bent. Both CV axles have torn boots and either need to be replaced or resealed. The differential is leaking and needs to be sorted. The transmission shifts well, except when engaging fifth; the synchro is wearing and can grind if the revs aren’t matched. Clutch is good, but will need replacing in the future. Power steering rack is leaking, so the belt to the pump has been removed. Both a refurbished rack and a new belt are included in the trunk. The engine runs well when warm, but hesitates to start when cold. Although, it starts right up on very cold nights. I’ve been told it could be the temperature sensor. I believe it has a small vacuum leak as well. The car has been sitting for a year and will need to be refreshed.** I've received many questions about rust. The car is overall solid. There is minimal rust. It is very minimal. The underside of the vehicle is clean. I will post pictures of the undercarriage. This is a mostly rust-free vehicle.** The odometer reads 185k but it no longer works and the mileage is more. This is the non-sunroof, "slicktop" model. The vehicle is being sold as-is. If you have any questions, please ask. Thank you. Here are some additional pictures: On May-30-15 at 20:36:43 PDT, seller added the following information: Here are some more pictures of the vehicle. The battery tray has some rust in the corner, the fender has surface rust only, but the rest of the vehicle is clean. Fender surface rust (very common) Battery Tray Rust Corner: More more pictures of the vehicle: Picture of the wheels before color change (rubber gold coating peels off easily, if desired)
