We purchased this vehicle from a large insurer as a recovered theft in 2008. The vehicle was stolen in GA but recovered in AL. The state of GA issued a salvage title when the vehicle reported as an unrecovered theft. However, when the vehicle was recovered in AL the state of Alabama issued a clear title. Experian's Autocheck provided the following response to the title inquiry: "I have attached the autocheck report for VIN 1FMPU16W43LC57472 so you can see the clean title from AL after the branded title from GA. There is currently a clean title from AL placed on our report with no brands whatsoever." CARFAX reflects the title to be clear (NOT a salvage title). I have secured a CARFAX report on the vehicle and can provide a copy of such upon request. I have the title issued by Alabama. We have put just over 100k miles on this vehicle since we purchased it. We are unaware of the vehicle ever being involved in any accident other than the mailbox mishap mentioned above.
