This is a running, driving, registered California blue plate car. Not a rust bucket, but could use a little bodywork an paint. Rockers, floor pans, trunk and everything else for the most part are without rust. Some surface rust where paint is missing here and there, but does not need any rust repair. Has some dings in the hood and must have gone off road at some point because there is a gash in the passenger firewall. Didn't bother me too much, but would require a little welding. This car has been in a garage most of its life as evidenced by the lack of rust and the nice gauges. It has just received a motor from a donor car and has great oil pressure, running temp, and close to 150 psi on every cylinder. These started out as low compression motors, so this one has definately been rebuilt. Has a new aluminum radiator and fairly new tires. All new stainless exhaust. Shocks were rebuilt before I got it. It is a great project to drive as you go. Interior and top are a little shabby but work for a driver. Does it need a new top, yes! New SST braided lines all around. Stereo worked before, but I had replaced it so its just sitting in there. Leaks a little here and there and can use a new fuel pump but can be test driven and get you around. The motor and transmission just need some new seals. I didn't replace them as I didn't know whether the motor would be any good. Turns out they are, so it's a great opportunity for you to get familiar with this fine British automobile. Many spares available after the sale including a snugtop hardtop, the original motor, weber carb on a pierce manifold, heater valve, Bentley Manual, master cylinder, and whatever else I find in my garage for it. Have had it about a year and drove it frequently until the head gasket blew. With new motor in there it will live to see many more miles. Overdrive works great and all lights and gauges work. All the locks are original and they work with the keys. Spare set included. I was amazed at how every single part on this car is available. Great restoration project, or drive it as is like I did. I bought a fiat 124 so this convertible needs to go. I have this listed locally as well, so I reserve the right to end the auction early.
